Two more kicks in the shins for the Republicans in Colorado
Via www.coloradopols.com

"Obama Widens Lead in Four Key States

Barack Obama widened his lead considerably over John McCain in four key battleground states during the past three weeks, providing further evidence that the economic crisis has greatly enhanced the Democrat's advantage with just 21 days left before Election Day.

Colorado Survey -- October 2008
From October 3 to 7 (pre-presidential debate), Quinnipiac University surveyed 997 likely voters in Colorado; the survey has a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percent. And then from October 8 to 12 (post-presidential debate), Quinnipiac University surveyed 1088 likely voters in Colorado; the survey has a margin of error of +/- 3.0 percent. The survey was conducted in partnership with washingtonpost.com and The Wall Street Journal.

1. If the election for President were being held today, and the candidates were Barack Obama the Democrat and John McCain the Republican, for whom would you vote? (If undecided q1) As of today, do you lean more toward Obama or McCain? This table includes "Leaners".

That's kick number one. Kick number two is as follows:
"In Colorado's open seat Senate race, Democratic Rep. Mark Udall holds a commanding 54 percent to 40 percent lead over former Republican Rep. Bob Schaffer."
That one is also from the second WaPo link.

And, for a bonus, check out this ad by the League of Conservation Voters that is currently running in CO attacking him for his stance on the Colorado River water compact.

1. No appreciation for good news?
We're pulling away in the Centennial State here people! Buck up! Remember, Kerry States + Iowa + New Mexico + COLORADO = victory, even without Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Indiana or Virginia. If we'd been this far ahead in Colorado a month ago people would have been calling it for Obama starting then. Let's not let this road to victory become ignored as we look ahead to even more pickups.

A win in CO at this point all but guarantees the election for Obama.

2. Great news Rocky!
Just logged on to pollster, saw new Quinnipiac polls were out. Kind of surprised to see limited reaction to this and PPP's poll(Obama +10 in Colorado) over the last few days. You're right, McCain CAN'T win the electoral college with out Colorado!

BTW, you still living in the Springs?

3. I was still living there as of late August
I was born there and lived there continuously until I left town for college. I've been going back every year for breaks and such, but this summer is probably the last time I will spend any sold length of time there, as I am really into grad school now and can't be away from my university (in MA) for extended periods of time. So, alas, I guess I don't really live there these days, but it's still where the heart is.
