2. I have always thought Bush could lose Florida
Florida has three major "minority" voting blocs: military including retired military, the general senior population and Cubans. He has done something to shaft all of those groups--tightened restrictions against sending money to Cuba, screwed around with the VA medical system, and now this.

We keep talking BBV and the Bush family, and all the disenfranchisement shit. You cannot disenfranchise large percentages of the senior and Cuban blocs and have it pass muster. And they'll need to disenfranchise probably 50 percent of those two groups to have the freeper vote prevail.

The question is, if Bush loses Florida will he explode on stage?

3. We still have some obstacles
Will Peter Deutch (sp) attacks on Betty Castor dry up the money the Democrats need from the Ft. Lauderdale/Palm Beach area. (I wasn't going to specify Jewish voters, but you know I mean it anyway)

Will the Hurricaines effect the small donors Democrats need.

Since Martinez won by such a large margin, we will face the McCullom voters who will vote anyway, plus the RNC handpicked candidate running the co-Bush ads like he did for the primary and thus not cost the BushCo campaign any money in this State.

I figure the Senate race the key to the Presidential race.

5. What bothers me ...
is hearing Bush and his cronies talk so much trash about evil trial lawyers, even though their hand-picked hatchtetman here in Florida IS a trial lawyer. They find a new way to disgust me every day, it seems. These people have no scruples, period.

6. Wasn't the cost of living adjustment for Social Security 2.1% this year?
Seniors are really being squeezed if they are now going to pay 17% more more Medicare.

But you watch Bush, he'll blame it on trial lawyers.

7. The Storms could make a big and unfortunate difference...
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 08:05 AM by White Mountain
... with so many poor people dislocated and just trying to make it. The election will take on a secondary importance.

All the while they will see tons of FEMA funds flooding in with Shrub and little Shrub taking the credit. Their massive relief funds are really unregulated campaign funds!!!!

This storm will change the issues that are on the minds of Floridians.

ADD: Mel Martinez on the ballot for the Rs will not hurt them.
