Going into he final debate, McCain has squandered about every option he has. He cannot afford to repeat his performances in the first two debates. In debate one he was dismissive and disdainful of Obama. In debate two he tried to be cute and ended up looking old and weird. He cannot afford status quo but if he is aggressive and pursues the ridiculous Ayers and ACORN associations he will run into an Obama buzz saw on these and he will evoke the dirtiness of his recent events. If he throws out yet another economic plan he reinforces the erratic charge. I think the McCain campaign in this general election will be talked about for the next several years as a textbook on how not to run a campaign starting with the choice of Palin. I am seeing a pattern develop however. He always chooses short term game vs. long term advantage. That is a typical trait of someone without purpose or principles. The contrast of the Obama campaign of steady as she goes is remarkable.

4. It All Goes Back to Picking Palin
A lot of people WANT to like McCain. But he's made some appalling decisions. The worst by far is the biggest - picking Sarah Palin. She's such a preposterously-bad candidate, it's hard to know where to start.

It's provocative to think how this race might be going if McCain had been more rational and picked Mitt Romney as his running mate. On the other hand, I'd be a LOT more scared for the country, thinking about those guys getting into power.

6. Palin is scarier than the lot of them.
Heck, I'd take four more years of Bush if the alternative was President Palin.

7. Yep! It's the "Straight Jacket Express!"
Complete with wandering alzheimers patient, murdering people with his walker.

Honestly, when he loses, I'm guessing he'll have a swift deterioration in his health and just give up on the world. All he ever wanted was to tule the world. Is that so much to ask?

I mean, he had an unbelievably rich young wife, a powerful, easy job, but, NOO! He still wasn't "fulfilled." He had to go and run for president, AGAIN!
