Am I dreaming ?
When I waked up this morning, I heard the French media reporting the poll of "Times" newsmagazine. Bush is 11 points before Kerry !!

What's the reliability of this poll ? Perhaps I'm gonna return to my bed !

2. Pollanoia Strikes Deep
Maybe this poll is true, maybe it's a lie...whatcha gonna do about it? Three options:

1.) Woe Is Me...Head In Sand...Get Out The Nikes & The Purple Shroud

2.) Ignore The Polls...They're All Jaded...Do I Hear Black Helicopters???

3.) Get out and work even harder...make calls, knock on doors, write checks...work the plan like you always thought you were 15 points down...even when the polls showed Kerry ahead.

The bottom line isn't who you want to have a beer with or gave the meanest or most elaborate speech, this is about the future path of this country. If people are content with the mess this regime has wrought, the wars and misery...then if they choose to select this bastard, they deserve what they get. But until those votes are counted, I'll be working to defeat this bastard and pay NO attention to other distractions.

Repugnicans win elections because they are FAR more disciplined than Democrats and have an established network in place that all Rove needs do is yank a few strings and they're gonna dance. That's what we've just seen. That has no bearing on what I do or the lives of the many I come in contact with who think this regime is decrepid and want a change. I'll let their voices speak and listen...the others can go pound sand.

3. good advice, especially #3! thank you.
may all of us hear and heed that!

one small exception. repugs are not more disciplined - compare demonstration numbers everywhere. they are better equipped, with more disposable time. that is why statisticians recognize that polls always lean toward the more privileged.

peace

4. Sorry, They Are FAR More Disciplined
It's a virtue and a bain on the diversity of Democrats that we can't be as strongly "loyal" or "on message" as Repugnicans. I think it's the free spirit nature that runs in many of us. We're far more critical and independent thinkers...and represent such a broad group of key central interests...that putting one message, one icon, one image, one cause is difficult. The one that sticks and will remain is ABB...don't discount it as the campaign winds down, * fatigue is gonna be a big factor soon.

I'm tired of people attempting to analyize or justify or discredit or make up polls. Having worked with statisitics and having had a strong background in marketing and research, I can find both major validities and discrepencies in all polls. They're snapshots, a look in the rear view, a moment...put far from definitive or solid.

This is a very fickle election year...as both sides have energized so many people and those in "the middle"...and that includes moderates on our side as well as theirs...vascilate with the mood of the moment. They can be swayed by perceptions and manufactured emotions...they can also be affected by sudden swings in the other direction.

We had our heads handed to us last week. Kerry has not sold himself. The issues of his credibility and leadership qualities remain unanswered. However, the same goes for this regime. And they have a record of devestation that affects everyone. Some of us are mad now and we're set in our ways...others will come around as they get closer to election day and the "feel good" effects make way to how people feel about their lives on Nov. 2...not Sept. 4.
