Completely misleading CNN headline on Ohio poll
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 04:12 PM by SallyMander

"McCain gains ground in key state" http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

O Rly??? The last poll was 50-46, and this one is 49-46, both in favor of Obama. Do those numbers translate to "gaining ground?" :grr:

ETA -- in the poll before that, Obama was only up by 1 pt. But it was STILL 47-46. I think i see a pattern here...

2. Listen everyone...
the media is not going to be our friend...if they were they would be demanding that McCain drop Palin from the ticket over her abuse of power....media silent today on this...it's only going to get worse from here on out.

If it turns into a blowout, they are irrelevant.

8. Obama doesn't need to win Ohio
I have always figured that Ohio would go for McCain. I know the polls are promising but I just have a bad feeling about Ohio, and FL.

Losing those two states isn't a big deal if Obama takes IA, CO, NM, and NH.

13. It is their job to make it seem a tight race! No sweat here...
If listeners thought the election game was over! Pay it no mind... that's what they get paid to do! Corporations and advertisers pay for interested viewers, that's the name of the game in TV! The more they divide us the more viewers they get... it's all about ratings and competition!

15. True enough... but this isn't a baseball game

I just wish they'd try a little harder to make the headline fit the data... but hey, i'm a scientist. ;)

14. And to put the McCain +2 poll in context : the same poll poll had McCain up by 6 before.
They probably don't use a very good sample. All other polls are trending in Obama's favor.
