Isn't this weird.. Are the Dems still divided? Is this even an issue?

1. Why would they campaign together? It's more efficient to send
them to a different location.

5. Exactly, but someone wrote that on Schuster scrolling reader? So, I guess this
close to the finish line, Dems are some how divided? NO.. its the Republicans who are divided, disorganized, and have The Crypt Keeper and Caribou Barbie potentially this close to the White House.

24. Right. They can cover more ground this way. I'm sure that we'll see them campaign
togther before the end of the campaign.

They've been throwing anything and everything out there.

6. please do not tell me that the media is pushing this....good god, they are desperate.
BIDEN is campaigning with the Clintons, and Obama elsewhere...the Dem party has too many stars to put all in one place with so little time left :)

7. Obama actually knows how to run a campaign.
Unlike McCain, who feels he needs to pal around with his anti-American running mate, covering far less ground than if they were to split.

Obama can campaign in one state, while Biden & the Clintons campaign in another.

Perfect.

12. That's what I'm thinking.. He's sent people all over FL to campaign for him.
The Gov's Napolitan(sp?) and Sebelius, he's sent out Hillary (on her own), and Bill (on his own), and recently Biden (on his own)... Not to mention himself before his first debate.

10. Because unlike McCain
Obama doesn't need to rely on others to draw crowds, and neither do the Clintons. Campaigning separately is far, far superior to having everyone campaign together. Much more ground gets covered.

13. The Clinton's can speak for themselves and so can Obama and Biden
They don't need to show up together as do McCain and Palin.
Each of the Democratic leaders Obama, Biden or the Clinton's are all big kids and can do very well all by themselves in events and cover much more ground than the combined McCain Palin nazi rallies could ever cover.

15. No need to. They can all cover more ground, see more people in separate events.
It's the general election campaign. And all are great campaigners *in their own right*. Nobody needs to hold their hands on the stump a la McCain/Palin.

18. Exactly. How often does McCain appear by himself?
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 02:36 PM by terrya
Without Palin?

And it's striking that I've never seen, oh let's say Schwarzenegger, out in other states stumping for McCain/Palin.

17. I don't get the issue...they can cover more ground splitting up.
Obama doesn't need anybody to pull a crowd and the Clinton's were already in that area. Who cares?

21. The Clinton's are stumping for Obama.
Quite frankly, I think it is better that they're not together.

One, as has been stated upthread, they can cover more ground. But two, they represent two different eras of the Democratic party. By traveling around together, it would send the poor, simple-minded, bumper-sticker depth media the mixed message of the previous Democratic party under the Clinton's to the new Democratic party under Obama.

Quite frankly, it's a reach for the media to try this stunt and there isn't anything to "report," so it, too, will go away. Just like the PUMAs did. They're still out there, acting like fools, but we don't really hear about them anymore.

23. I think if you send them to different states they are more effective
for example you can have Obama in Missouri, Hillary in New Mexico, and Bill in Florida. I think it is a good idea.

25. That cause the media ain't got anything else to do than make shit up....
There are no missing blondes, hurricanes or shark attacks worth noting right now...and we know the economy is too difficult a subject for them to discuss; they might have to do some research.

Gossip is what they are good for; gossip and nothing more.

28. Neither McCain nor Obama on the stump today
Both are preparing for the next debate and only the VP candidates are on the road. Thus the Clintons are out with the Bidens.

29. Obama has been splitting up the major surrogates for awhile as a strategy
he campaigns usually without Biden as well. I think maybe the last week of the election they may all barnstorm together. That would be interesting. But being able to cover more ground is a smarter strategy.
