RW radio asshole behind the AP scrubbing of the Clinton 'boos' story
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 09:13 PM by RatTerrier
I found this on a Milwaukee radio message board:

http://www.brewcityradio.com/wwwboard/messages4/6950.ht...

It was written by some crazy freeper who's always bitching about RW radio:

Don't say I never said anything good about Mark Belling.

Today, President Bush opened his remarks in Milwaukee by telling the crowd that Bill Clinton was in the hospital, and asking for their good wishes and prayers for him. My mother was a volunteer at the event, and I listened to the full event on WISN. (see earlier post).

The crowd, who obviously don't think too much of President Clinton, were nevertheless classy Republicans and, after gasping at the shocking news, applauded loudly for President Bush's kind and righteous gesture. NOBODY BOOED.

But a liberal AP reporter FABRICATED a story that went out on the wire, and which, despite being quickly retracted, is at this writing STILL on the liberal Boston Globe's site.

The text of the story includes the following LIES:

"WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) President Bush on Friday wished Bill Clinton ''best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery.''

''He's is in our thoughts and prayers,'' Bush said at a campaign rally.

Bush's audience of thousands in West Allis, Wis., booed. Bush did nothing to stop them."

Mark Belling was tenacious in tracking down this story, ...first to Channel 12 news (who posted it on their site)..and then to the ANONYMOUS AP story.

He then called the local branch of the AP, demanding that the identity of the liberal reporter who fabricated the story be released. He talked to the LIBERAL director, Lee Hughes, who basically gave him the finger.

This is where Belling showed more courage than most radio personalities, and released the number of the Milwaukee AP branch (414-225-3580). He directed his audience to simply say, "Give us the name" and hang up. At this writing, the lines at AP in Milwaukee are jammed.

This is a rare opportunity to actually find a reporter who is acting as nothing more than a Democratic operative, and hold them to account for their propaganda. This reporter should be immediately fired. They told nothing more than BALD FACED LIES, designed to diminish President Bush and Wisconsin Republicans.

And this is Talk Radio at its best, operating in the public interest. I hope that Belling won't rest until he identifies this A-Hole, and he will do a great deal to repair the harm he has done to himself by siding with Rush if he does.

Incidentally, I posted a Drudge (yes, Drudge) link with a story about the scrubbed story. You can find it on this thread:

BTW: Belling's an asshole.

3. Liberal media...that is too funny.
I have no doubt that Bush and his merry little lambs are gleefully celebrating Clinton's distress. I can't believe that these people actually believe there's a liberal bias. And the rectitude that is dripping off this message is disturbing...

5. Chris Matthews showed it during Hardball
and there was no booing. (At least in the first 2-3 seconds or so of applause.) Something was wrong with that AP story.

7. Or....
... similar to the Dean scream, what we're hearing now on recorded audio is different from what one might have heard there. It's possible that *some* booed.

Just a thought.

6. Down the memory hole it goes.
Was there boos? Was there not boos? You did not hear what you heard. You will love Big Brother.

Now, put on this nice rat cage.

8. could be where he was standing
he could hear booing. If it wasn't near the mic, then it wasn't heard. If the local AP reporter was wise and it did happen, he had a tape-recorder.
