Ah birth certificate controversy provides for endless fun
I'm going to post my last post on a thread at a different site. I'm sure by reading it you can figure out just how far into lunacy some people have taken this. Yes, the B mentioned below is what the people posting on this site apparently believed happened:

We're so far into pure conjecture here there is nothing factual we can talk about. Instead, let me present Occam's Razor (the simplest explanation is usually the best).

A: Obama was born in 1961 in Honolulu and his certificate of live birth shows this.

B: Obama's mother remained in Kenya until days before birth before deciding inexplicably to fly back to Honolulu to give birth to her child when she did not, in fact, need to do in the first place as Obama could have simply naturalized upon his own return to America (possibly because she could tell the future and knew her son needed eligibility to run for president someday). However, Kenyan, or airline, personnel prevented her from boarding over fear that she would have a baby over the water as they could tell simply by looking at her that she was going to pop at any moment. Obama's mother returns to Kenya, gives birth at a hospital where the necessary paperwork was created to make a Kenyan birth certificate. She then flies to Hawai'i with her less than one week old son where, even though she has already signed paperwork for a birth certificate, she fraudulently files for a second claiming that her child was born in Hawai'i. She knows she risks massive federal fraud charges and has left a paper trail in Kenya, which she doesn't bother to clean up. Just for fun, the hospital and she then post a birth announcement in the paper.

I'm going to say A has a lot more going for it.

1. But...
Illuminati's Razor states quite clearly that he most complicatedly evil answer is usually the most correct answer.

FactCheck.org Clarifies Barack’s Citizenship

“When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom’s dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children.

Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.”

10. Did you check the kerning??? Or the font?
No really, the wingers have decided that Factcheck is in the tank for Obama, and one site, using some super-duper pixel-reading software, has declared that this is his sister's Birth Certificate--if you remove layers of pixels, you will see her name.....

6. How can Panamanian-born McCain be elected president?
http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/how_can_panamanian-born_mccain_be_elected_president.html

If McCain wins the presidency, the constitutionality of the congressional statutes could be challenged in the courts. Members of Congress have expressed this fear and proposed a more explicit law, or even a Constitutional amendment. Neither has been adopted.

8. He was born in the Canal Zone, which was a US possession
Apparently US possessions count as far as "natural-bornness" goes. Anyway, his mom and dad were both American citizens, so he's okay.

9. Nothing like a good non-issue to rile up the base...my daughter was born in South Africa
As soon as I brought her home from the hospital, I went to the American Consul in Cape Town to apply for an "American Citizen Born Abroad" birth certificate. I looked that consular employee in the eye and asked, "Can my daughter become president?" He said, "yes." I asked again. He said, "absolutely, no question. We get this all the time."

Just feeding on pure ignorance. It's potent stuff.

11. Methinks the freeps are projecting a tad.
They know which birth story on this year's campaign trail really doesn't add up, and which alleged mother really shouldn't have been able to board multiple planes when about to deliver.

for the wacko wingnuts.

13. Frankly everything is a mindless distraction for the wacko wingnuts
Bright shiny objects, stupid shit made up by their "leaders" like Hannity and Limpballs, these people are focusing on the bullshit minutia because they realize that if they looked at the big picture, their insular little world where they are supreme would pop like a bubble.

14. Prior to the 2004 election I did not have much interest in 'things
political.'

These last many months have been exciting for me, what with the Hillary and Obama primaries, the endless opportunites to debunk items sent to me by rebub and/or fundie inlaws.

Sent a response just this morning about the '3 men who brought down Wall Street', and a few days ago sent a BIL (reply to all) the birth certificate information. That BIL has stopped sending us anything at all.
