At the G7, the meeting of the world's richest nation's finance chiefs today, they discussed how to manage the financial crisis. And they must have considered a McCain vs Obama presidency.
It's obvious that Obama would be the most able in leading a way out of this disaster. It's also obvious that McCain doesn't have a clue, particularly about high finance. If McCain wins we may never get out of this morass.
This is an argument that even the hard core Republicans can understand. If McCain wins the presidency, you lose your fortune. Personal wealth is more important than any ideological idea, particularly to Republicans, so...
The Republican leaders told McCain to take a dive today.
The result is that McCain's campaign took a startling 180 degree turn. He began to tell his followers that Obama would be an *honorable* choice for the presidency.
Therefore, I believe, the McCain campaign is effectively dead as of today, Oct. 11, 2008.
It will continue, of course, as a matter of form but you will see less and less enthusiasm coming from old (old) Johnny boy.
And expect a landslide for Obama come November.
