"WANTED FOR TREASON"
In a McCain/Palin really earlier this week, someone in the crowd shouted that Obama is a traitor and guilty of treason.

This ad ran in a Dallas newspaper the DAY BEFORE the assassination of President John F. Kennedy

"...In 1963 the Dallas Morning News was published by a man named Ted Dealey . When criticized for it later, Dealey said that before agreeing to print the JBS ad, he'd read it meticulously and approved it, arguing that it 'represented what the Dallas Morning News have been saying editorially'....

21. That's the actual ad in the Dallas paper (from the link)
The link says the Wanted for Treason was a flyer that was passed around Dallas a few days before Kennedy arrived.

41. When searching for info on it, I come across one being sold with info on who
was responsible for the handbills and who was responsible for the ad:

from Ebay ad:

http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...

John F. Kennedy) Original "Wanted for Treason" Handbill. John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) 35th President. On November 21, 1963 "Wanted for Treason" handbills were distributed on the streets of Dallas, before Kennedy's scheduled visit. These handbills bore a reproduction of a front and profile photograph of the President and set forth a series of inflammatory charges against him. Robert A. Surrey was eventually identified as the author of the handbill. Surrey, a printing salesman employed by Johnson Printing Co. of Dallas, had been closely associated with General Edwin Walker. Walker was known for his right wing political views and for having been an assassination target of Lee Harvey Oswald in April 1963. Bernard Wiessman, responsible for the black-bordered "Welcome Mr. Kennedy" advertisement in the November 22 Dallas Morning News, also an associate of Walker's and a prominent John Birch Society member, testified to The Warren Commission that he saw a copy of one of these handbills on the floor of Walker's car shortly after November 22nd. The commission found no evidence of any connection between those responsible for the handbill and Oswald or the actual assassination. However, Oswald attended a meeting held by Walker in Dallas one month before the assassination. An original 9" x 12" "Wanted for Treason" handbill, has uneven toning and age spotting. These handbills are excessively rare there are only three others known to exist.

36. true enough
when I was volunteering, I had a white man (I am a white woman) threaten my life and Obama's life.

He said "why would YOU work for a n...? Oh, it doesn't matter. He won't be around for long and neither will you."

He was obviously a POS.
SCARY unbalanced racist freak.

I still have my sign in front of my house, though my car one is a magnet and I have to take it off for work. I'll do what I have to do to get along and keep my job, but I'm not going to be intimidated against working for Obama or putting a sign up in my yard. Fuck these people. that's how they win. they have to realize they are the fringe, not us. they are the crazy people.

You make a good point and I'm not trying to blow it off....at all. I'm just pissed. We all need to be careful, vigilant AND work our ass off to get Obama elected.

It is unbelievable that these people think the color of their skin is relevant to their own worth. How....it boggles my mind. Really??? they're serious about this? Do they know we all are related to a common ape family and we are just waiting to find the missing link? Jesus. Someone should tell them...quick like.

Um, duh -- We are all the same, morans. No, wait. I so take that back.

DEAR MORANS,

You fucks are clearly the part of the human race who has not evolved. Thank god you will be extinct soon.

Sincerely,

the rest of the fucking world.

p.s. Wake UP!

Playing with hate as a political strategy...

McCain-Palin have been rather busy this week endorsing the view of some of their psychotic supporters who chanted "Obama is a traitor," among the other hate-filled rants. Well, DU blogger Heather located this document - a political ad that ran in Dallas the day before John F. Kennedy was assassinated - from the national archives:...

It's up at HuffPo, too

28. Of course, if one believed that there was a pre-existing plot to kill JFK,
then getting stuff like this out there in advance would be a logical thing for the perpetrators to do in order to make the "one lone hate-filled gunman" scenario plausible.

34. Obama's demeanor in the face of this stuff is amazing. Moments ago in Philly, he was
telling the story about his visit to a diner in Ohio yesterday, where he met the die-hard republican owner. As Obama tells of the owner serving Obama the slice of pie that he had ordered, someone in the Philly crowd yelled out, "don't eat it!," obviously referring to the idea the owner might have poisoned it. Obama burst out laughing, even needing a couple of seconds to calm down, and he told the rest of the crowd what the man had just said. Never for a moment did Obama show that the thought somebody might try to kill him was a concern of his.

Barack appeals to the better angel in us, but some people are so far gone, so lost inside their twisted minds of fear and hate, that McCain and Palin have let loose forces that can't be controlled. McCain should hang his head in permanent shame.

35. K&R. This is absolutely relevent. We have to consider the logic these freaks work from.
McCain and Palin are peddling the idea with underhanded language that Barack Obama is a terrorist sympathizer, or worse - some kind of sleeper agent for domestic radicals. If someone actually believes that, then doesn't that mean that Obama is at war with America? And therefore, doesn't that mean he needs to be stopped at all costs?

This is what McCain is unleashing. I never thought it possible, but McCain has sunk lower than Karl Rove - far lower, and that's not easy. He is potentially stirring up real violence, American vs. American violence that could have deadly consequences, with his presidential ambition.

The GOP does this shit they are the party of hate, and they have nothing else to offer (except war and financial disasters). The right-wing rags who publish the GOP propogranda of lies and hate are nothing more than disciples of the party of hate.
