The way McCain is conducting his campaign, I say, his career is toast after this election!!
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 10:51 AM by demo dutch
He built his career as a so-called reformer and he's losing more and more credibility and respect as the McCain/Palin hate campaign drags on. Many people who originally supported him are disappointed. I think there's great potential for damage since it completely undermines the reputation he’s developed over the course of his career.

Most politicians would like to leave a positive legacy and I think that chance is gone. I see him as a twisted bitter old man facing his last days

1. He's 72
What career does he have left. Seriously I'd be surprised if he ran for re-election in 2010

2. I think he's in such poor health he will retire soon, anyway.
I'm sorry that he's in poor health. I'm not saying that to gloat. I'm just stating it as a matter of opinion. McCain is in no way healthy enough to be president or even senator. He needs to retire and take care of himself.

I don't see her walking away from this exactly smelling like a rose.

16. McCain will be shunned after this election.
Even though he picked Palin, the fundies don't like him or trust him.

The core of the fiscal Republicans despise him.

Many Republicans who previously liked him now see him as a guy who will do or say anything.

He's done as a political force the instant the election returns come in. He'll have to buy a ticket to Republican events.

17. Agreed, and he's still pimping the meme that he'll reach across the aisle..
after trashing the character of a senate colleague by smearing him with blatant lies, calling him a terrorist, does he really think that would happen? He will be a pariah on the senate floor after this. Joey LIEberman and Lin-Lin Graham will be his only friend.

23. However.
What he has done is more damaging than anything that will effect him personally.
He has basically divided the united states. All of the people that were somewhat comfortable with a Black President have now come out of their homes and congregated at these rallies. They are now banded together and Obama now has to wage war with middle "Out of touch" America if he does indeed win. Just Youtube some of the recent video, its absolutely sickening. To think that this man served this country valiantly and was hated among his own party for being not very traditional in his views. Now he is standing there while people are yelling "Kill the terrorist!" and "Communist Obama scum!". Michelle was right, "Currently, I am not proud of this country." Who are these people and what are they doing in America? They belong in 1930s Germany, actually make that 1940s.
