5. Good excuse for Wall Street to get another $700 billion
Since they saw how easy it was to get the first $700 billion (less than two weeks) and then see AIG get even more, they're all thinking, "Hey, let's really cause a panic and get more help from our good friends in Washington before the election".

12. Bargain hunters are hitting energy stocks most likely, the sell off continues everywhere else
I've been watching for a few bargains to appear but to be quite honest, I haven't found any that are even remotely safe. Beyond that, I'm not convinced we have hit the bottom yet, we're still along way from that point.

14. I'm watching a real-time ticker that's showing buys and sells in real time
For every buy you see, there are at least two sells of double the amount. I'm not sure how today is going to end, but I expect a big dip in the afternoon and a huge sell-off on Monday.

16. Nope. It was bank stocks overwhelmingly that led the market higher.
Energy is a horrid place to be with as much as prices are coming down.

21. I should have been more specific - MET coal and related energy products are solid
I think the bottom has been found in this area and some are showing some stability and long-term prospects for growth are good.

18. I personally think that the "bottom" is 7500 to 7700....

I think the market will bounce around between 7500 and 8500 until November 4th.

Then... with Obama's election... the foreign markets will spike upward sharply and then within 2 days, the Dow will be up near 9500-10000.

The rest of the world will go super optimistic when Obama is elected, and their markets will reflect that.... and then our markets will follow.

Just my opinion.....
