Palin faces possible censure.
US vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin faces possible censure today with the conclusion of an investigation into allegations that she committed a serious abuse of power by sacking the head of the Alaskan police force when he refused to become involved in a family feud.

This could be devastating. Let's hope so!

"Bad bad Sarah", slap on the wrist?

15. In some contested states, she still has high approval.
This could finish her (and McCain) off. People don't like it when politicians mess with cops.

20. Thats about the size of it
Those who love her still are not your average rational thinking people. A Censure? That don't amount to a hill of beans. Better than nothing, but worse than anything substantial.

He'd be done. Period.

Only the bat-shit crazy maniacs will get in the car and drive to the polls to put this nutjob in the white house.

16. But that won't stop legislators from speaking out.
If the report is bad enough, legislators could announce their plans to censure, impeach, whatever. I assume her popularity is tanking in Alaska, just like everywhere else.

8. So, how much is this gonna matter to anybody?
Like, Delay's problems never bothered the Republicans. Most of them probly think she either has, or should have, the right to order the summary execution of anybody she wants in the state, particularly in state gov't.

17. This is the preview of worse things to come.... wow ....
The Palin defenses don't work against citizens of Alaska who are fed up with her lies and turning the entire Governor's Office over to the McCain Campaign.

I think the Alaskans will take care of her ... they seem to be geniunely ready to kick her behind.

I wonder how the 'Straight Talk Express' will spin the fact that Palin has been lying all along.

Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 08:28 PM by msallied
In a sense, her goose will be cooked. No, the wingnuts will not be swayed and will consider her the victim in all this (because after all, Wooten was a deranged maniac and she was acting in the role of the savior, dontcha know?) but the mainstream will be done with her.

30. If it's bad news...it'll be front page for the next week
There's got to be some reason why the MSM hasn't been pushing this story down our throats and I think they'll now finally take it seriously. They thought it was going to be like all the allegations into the Bush Admin. but now this will convince them it's real. Also, the media truly only likes one thing more than celebrity which is the downfall of celebrities and this could be huge.

Plus, they've never jumped on the Palin affair, so I think they're keeping that in their back pocket too. Once they realize it's out of reach for McCain/Palin they'll start skewering her with this stuff.

The main reason I think it'll be bad for Palin is that she pissed of this Legislature pretty well. Only 5 of the 12 were involved in the case to shut it down and the appeals and I think the other 7 are pretty mad that she didn't take them seriously and tried to embarrass them and discredit them. I guess we'll see...
