The worst thing about McCain-Palin
The thing that scares me the most about the remote, but real possibility that McCain, and ultimately Palin, will get into the White House is that the campaign is so ugly now that it presages a real horror should they get in.

The campaign is supposed to be when you are on your best behavior -- even though you will uncloak once the election is over. It's like dating. You don't show your date your true side on the first few dates, if at all.

Even Bush in 2000 played as nice as he could (despite the fact Rove and Co. were committing treachery behind the scenes). Bush positioned himself as a "uniter," blah blah blah.

However, McCain and Palin are personally inciting their followers to murder and mayhem. They are running the most despicable, violence-laden campaign that I've seen since I began paying attention to these things in 1960. Yes, there's always been a negative tone to campaigning, but not to the level we're seeing this year.

This is scaring the shit out of me -- really. They've got the goons riled up. My fer is that if McCain and Palin do get it, it will be implicitly giving permission to all the hate-mongers to act on their impulses.

Add some economic hard times and this could get real ugly real fast. I am seriously positioning myself to get out of the country if the worst happens.

1. what scares me is both of these people
will end up in the senate. Here's 2 people that have clearly shown they have no business writing public policy.
