i don't use *my* middle name on anything but official forms. why should it matter either way? there's only one reason why the republicans would prominently feature a middle name that he, himself, seldom uses. and we all know what that is, and why that is, and we know damned well that there are many, many people for whom it *would* damned well matter.

whether it *should* or not isn't a smart question to be asking in public during a close election.
