| 58. What has always amazed me with the Bushniks and now this year |
 |
is that these people have to be so incredibly gullible and incapable of reading an individual's persona. There is not a hateful bone in Obama's body. That's ALL McCain has. They're such hypocrites. Obama has integrity oozing from his pores and McCain would stop at ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to destroy whoever is in the way of him getting what he wants. He blatantly lies and projects utter crap on Obama all day long and these people are just so mindless, such lemmings that they spew it and regurgitate whatever SHITE (intentional) they're fed. Amazing!! They're angry with McCain for not laying into Obama to his face, but the fact is that McCain knows that Obama can nail him a thousand times over and McCain is VERY afraid of opening that can of worms . . . unless Obama's not there and he can't defend himself from the BS. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!! Well . . . I guess they finally are and it will be a very sweet experience to be rule by a competent, honest man again.

| 136. There's also the multiple-stage coping strategy |
 |
1) Conservatism is tested, tough, and is at its best when things are worst. 2) The Democrats will destroy America. 3) We're being picked on. 4) If the American people were just presented conservatism honestly, they'd tumble for us. 5) DAMN LIBERAL MEDIA! 6) I'll go listen to Limbaugh/Hewitt/Hannity &c ... they'll tell me the truth
It's belwildering they way they see the economy collapsing and are losing their homes yet somehow think it wasn't the boys in control that did it.
I'd like to get me a pair of those glasses. Then my life would be a rousing success!

This reader out-Andies Andy:
Well I have gone outside and pulled up my Mcain/Palin sign. This election is over. I will vote for Mcain but I know that come Nov. 5 Obama will be our president-elect. I feel sorry for Sarah Palin. A once promising career will be permanently connected to the landside loss of John McCain. I weep for my children and their families. Steady on. This next month is going to be a long month. Lots of things will happen. But McCain has to make some of them happen. His charge that Obama doesn't know the difference between "strategy" and "tactics" could equally well be leveled at his own campaign.

Ridiculous.

 |
The magnitude of the surplus may not be determined at this point.
As the sayin' goes, each time these nut cases 'predict' something, expect the opposite will happen.
The only exception might be the one that says Obama will be our next president.
But then, he looks like 'less nutty' than the rest of the cracks.

 |
Paul Rosenberg wrote the following:
9/11. Enron. Katrina. Abu Ghraib. Guantanamo. 4180 US troops and up to 1.2 million Iraqi civilians dead. The biggest financial meltdown since Herbert Hoover. Attacking decorated veterans while defending a deserter.
And NOW they weep? Because they can't have another four years of the same?
These people are sick, sick, sick.

 |
My next door neighbor has voted Bush twice. She came up to me this morning and asked if she could come with me to the Obama rally. I was SHOCKED and of course took her with me. She started asking me all kinds of questions about what has been happening these past 8 years. I mentioned that hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's had died during the occupation and she said she had never heard anything about it. I was going to email her several articles about different aspects of the last eight year fiasco and was hoping maybe you had a good link explaining the toll the Iraqi's have suffered.

They truly care about their children and their families. This person is weeping and does not realize that the children and family will be light-years better off when this prediction of "doom and gloom" comes to pass. Goodness how awful to be despondent over things looking up for everyone involved.

Obama they will think THEY were just lucky, and the rest of the country is going to hell in a handbasket. And they will, no doubt, find evidence to support that in the socialization of health care (not knowing what McCain's plan would have done to them) and withdrawal from Middle Eastern wars (surrender, to their minds).

"I feel sorry for Sarah Palin. A once promising career will be permanently connected to the landside loss of John McCain. "
How about "I feel sorry for Sarah Palin. A once promising career will be permanently connected to Tina Fey, Katie Couric, and her own complete ineptitude when answering the simplest questions. "
She was dominated by Katie Couric for God's sake...on questions like "what newspapers do you read?" If this is the future of the republican party....stick a fork in 'em. I thought W was stupid...and he is...but Palin is an even bigger idiot. And the right still looks at her as a savior. If they run her in 2012 against Obama, we may finally be able to duplicate Reagan Mondale for our side....she is that bad.

Classic, and strangely true: The Palin strategy was based on the idea that some of Clinton's base would come riding to the rescue. Sorry guys, but when you're the republicans, and your hope for winning comes from the Clintons after all you've done to them, you're pretty screwn.

Every now and then there's a post from a voice of reason, but others always flame the truth-tellers into silence. The entertaining aspect, for me, comes from the totally upside-down way the folks there look at events and statements in the news. They look at the same things I do but come to completely opposite conclusions. Wild!

We have been in a Civil Cold War for decades now, between capitalism and morality, on one side, and socialism and decadence on the other.. The latter continue to make gains, and on the eve of the Great Battle of 2008, the prospects for the former are grim.

"5 Supreme Court Justices are 70 or over, and one is almost there. Obama will appoint at least 2, and possibly more. Court precedents are, effectively, forever.
Obama has attempted to shut down opposition of all types. He'll go after talk radio full bore if elected - and a revamped Court will aid & abet. We won't even be able to find out the facts about what he's doing, let alone mount effective opposition.
He'll pay for his social programs by denuding our defenses - at a time when Iran is developing nukes and the Norks have about a dozen.
He'll raise taxes, at a time when the economy is tanking.
He'll try to ban guns, or make guns & ammo so expensive via regulation that he'll effectively ban them. Gun shows will be a relic of the past. All sales will be recorded, making confiscation all the easier. I'm not even sure that we'll have free and fair elections by 2012.
Yes, he DOES present an existential threat to our way of life. When Carter was President, there was some civility, some sense of limits. We also still had the Cold War to keep us united. There's none of that now, and we're much closer to a precipice now. He is downright dangerous. "
Obama will shut down right wing radio shows? What kind of loony crap are they listening to that they come up with this stuff? Don't they even realize that THEY are the party that is systematically dismantling the constitution and its protections?

One thing’s certain — if McCain loses without going down swinging he’ll be public enemy #1 in the GOP. ...at least in conservative circles. More so than even before.
John McCain needs to get out there and get the job done. Governor Palin is carrying his water for him. If he costs us this election and causes Gov. Palin go down with him there won't be anyone of her caliber come along in years and years. I hope not! And what is Palin's caliber, anyway?

We've haven't even had the third debate yet and they already wanna quit? What a buncha wimps, saps and crybabies! ![]() OK, their guy sucks ass and Americans would vote anybody except McMoron into office at this point. And here I thought they would put up a better fight. No matter, it's good that they're out of it. Maybe they'll encourage others to stay home in protest and we can pick up a swing state like MT or IN or WV. "Hillary, can you save us?"----hahahahaha! After all the insults they sent at her, they're begging for her help? PS: God their site is ugly and so...Netscape 2.0...Where's the embed, the stylish frames, the...java? And I'm so disgusted. Thinly-veiled and not-so-thinly veiled racism.
What is it with their "if you express support for McCain you're a racist" crap? That makes no sense. I think they are STUPID to support McCain, but don't automatically assume folks are racist. Unless I read crap like over in freeperville. WOW. I really didn't think young Americans acted and thought that way anymore. That the racists were my parents age (they won't vote this year because they are racists Dems, don't get me started, it's a daily argument).
I'm ashamed for them.

They've lost most of the rational thinkers a long time ago. What's left are a bunch of anti-social ding-dongs and a few RNC minders who are tasked with getting the talking points out. The cognitive dissonance between their professed conservative principles and their mindless support of the organized crime party that has broken every tenant of these same principles is pathetic. You'd think that they'd be embarrassed for their obvious inability to make an informed decision when it comes to the supporting a corrupt party over their self interests. A bunch of tribal village idiots.

I read a couple of the threads and the ignorance is just appalling. Found this little gem buried in the Claire McCaskill hatefest:
Obnoxious little twit, isn’t she?
And to think the ‘Pubbies rolled over and let her steal her seat in the Senate by allowing votes for her dead husband to be counted for her.
I dare say her dead husband was more of a decent man to go spitting on an earpiece.
This 'political expert' has McCaskill confused with Jean Carnahan. What a bunch of tools...

Some of the Freepers will go down fighting: "John McCain is insane. I’m still voting for him, but he’s out of his freaking mind." That post started a thread titled "CRAZY MCCAIN AND HIS MORTGAGE DEAL". They're still fuming about McCain's endorsement of a "socialistic" plan.

I just clicked on one of the threads, the one that asked "What scares you most about an Obama presidency?". It was hilarious! I couldn't believe how moronic those guys sound, its as if they have been asleep for the past 8 years. I guess that's what its like for people who are such mental midgets. One post said he was scared about the big deficits we'd get under Obama. Huh?? Has he taken a look at the budget under Bush???? Does he realize Clinton handed him a surplus?? A few posts said we would turn into Nazi Germany. LOL! We've moved closer to fascism under Bush than even the biggest neocons could have hoped for. The good thing about this campaign, and particularly as a result of the Palin pick, is the Republican party's various divisions are starting to crack. There is a small part of the party that is smart, and they are getting disgusted by how dumb their party has become and how they've come to embrace stupidity. I'm not saying that minority will change its ideology, but they are walking sideways away from the bulk of their party which is made up of uneducated inbred illiterates like those "Freepers".

being a Republican at all is an exercise in denial. By definition, they are people who refuse to accept the evidence of their own senses. When have the Republicans EVER done anything good for the people of this country? They ALWAYS destroy the economy. They ALWAYS destroy our international credibility. They ALWAYS rig the taxes so most people get ripped-off in favor of the rich. They ALWAYS strip away basic entitlements and protections for human rights. They ALWAYS undermine workers in favor of owners. They ALWAYS rape the environment. And yet, there is this vast populace in America who blind themselves to all this, and vote for these jackals over and over and over.
I have really come to the conclusion that conservativism is a mental illness.
