Americans are ready to elect a black candidate to the Presidency of the United States. They simply cannot own up to their own failure. It can't be their fault! It's all a lie! He's a "boy" or a "terrorist." The ultimate rejection of Republican politics is the election of an African American politician to the Presidency of the United States. They simply cannot live up to that failure. They can't own it. They are lashing out in their hatred of that fact.

So tonight, seconds before the debate begins, I present to you Mr. Malcolm X, in 1964 at Oxford University. It only took us 48 years, and only the Republican failures of the last 8 years could bring us to this glorious day.
