Yikes! Watch The Dow and Your 401(k) Go Down In Real Time
Here is Yahoo's real time display of the components of the DOW:

Its going to take some time for the Bailout to be implemented, and for credit to trickle back into the system. In the meantime, it is really tough to buy squat unless you have cash or stellar credit.

Try not to get to spooked. Over the long run, we should be able to recover from the damage of the Bush years.

2. Good News , We Are Only 730 Points Down, Less Than Last Weeks 777 Point Record

We should look at the bright side.

Yup, that Bush/McCain tax policy is doing wonders for the economy. Now, consider this, IF there was Obama's 20% tax on capital gains, perhaps people would pause before selling. However, without such a tax, people are free to speculate and churn their accounts.

Thanks Bush and McCain!

6. Oops, Since Everyone Is Losing Money There Is No Capital Gains
I made a reference to capital gains, but I forgot that under the Bush administration, the DOW is now a negative, so there would be no tax consequences for selling because most folks have lost money if they invested at the start of the Bush presidency.

Thanks again Bush/McCain!

5. Looks like hubby's employee stock options (INTC) are even more worthless than before.
I guess one thing about being in the tech market is that they've been stagnant for about a decade anyway.
