Would YOU imagine it was only for a nice chat with a constituent, as John McCcain seems to have thought according to his own admisstion (in one of the numerous Amy Silverman (Phoenix New Times) articles about him)? Or would your ethical radar tell you "proceed with EXTREME caution"?

In one of those articles, McCain said he didn't understand why anyone would think it 'might appear unethical' at the time and only made the connection years AFTER the investigation.

That, my friendssss, is monumentally stupid or corrupt to the bone.

Maybe both.
