3. He's just not that courageous.
Powell is afraid that people will say that he only endorsed Obama because Obama is Black. And possibly, this is exactly what the McCain campaign would say...as they are that low.

4. Not yet but Willie Brown just spilled this intriguing tidbit....
"By the way, remember that prediction about former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsing Barack Obama?

My contacts in the Obama campaign said President Bush himself called Powell and asked him to hold off. Asked him not to embarrass the administration.

We'll see - but Powell is definitely not endorsing John McCain."

5. I thought Powell said he'd decide after the debate(s).
I'm wondering how much of a boost, if any, McCain would get from a Powell endorsement.

7. I really, really, really -
Doubt Powell will endorse McCain.

Any rational consideration went out the window with Sarah Palin's pick.

The only two options left are endorsing Obama or staying silent.

I'm intrigued to see what Powell does.

I predict he will endorse Obama indeed.

9. It would be icing on the cake for Obama and "the hook" for McCain

11. If that's the case
I would like to see Powell do the first independent thing in his life and stop being the good, compliant soldiers who just follows orders. Endorse Obama, General Powell. It just might help you redeem yourself a bit with some of us.

10. Why does this man stay in the Republican Party?
I cannot comprehend this enigma that is Colin Powell. His inability to walk away from a party that reeks of decay......decay of ideas, patriotism, honesty. racism and morality makes his decision to remain silent appear as his approval and agreement to all the abuses that have occurred under this *president's administration. Why would I want to seek his endorsement, as a Democrat and an Obama supporter, it would be meaningless to me. I no longer have any respect for the man. This is a sad example of one who has truly squandered his legacy of greatness.

13. According to the Rolling Stone article on McCain...
...Powell detests McCain, and won't endorse him (as he would virtually any other Republican). Whether that would translate to endorsing a Democrat is dubious.

14. War criminal toady and coward Powell?
That Colin Powell?

Oh and I am not exactly holding my breath for Kindofsleazy Rice either. It seems that just because you happen to be an african american doesn't mean that you have to endorse Obama, or that you aren't a neocon war criminal.
