What was your favorite part of Saturday Nite Live's VP debate today? Mine....
.... was when Ifill (Queen Latifah) asked Palin (Tina Fey) a question and Palin answered:

"I'm gonna IGNORE that question and talk instead about how MUCH I love Israel! I just love 'em!....."

It was GREAT since Palin DID exactly that in the debate, she would NOT answer the questions asked!

2. I dunno, there were so many good parts!
I loved Queen Latifah's Ifill playing "us" (the audience) by giving all those skeptical "I know she did not just say that" looks. The book-pimping was cheesy goodness.

I liked the bit about preserving the sanctity of marriage between "unwilling teenagers"

"Biden"'s praising of McCain coupled with calling him completely unstable was funny!

It was a great sketch.

8. My favorite part...
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 11:16 PM by TwoSparkles
...was when the Biden character said what he really thought of Palin.

We all know that he was thinking, "Man what an idiot she is!" but he couldn't say it.
It was part of the debate strategy that he not go after Palin directly.

It just felt so great to have the Biden character explain that he was bound by
his strategy to not attack Palin--but that he thought she was a major dumb ass.

Cuz we all know that's what Biden was thinking!

10. You know what? You're right. That was important to have the Biden character say that.....
... but at the end he said, "Biden is better than THAT!" (Pointing at Palin) and I laughed so hard!

Because I revealed exactly how phoney her whole "folksiness" is. All planned and calculated. Really, the whole thing was incredibly funny. I couldn't stop laughing.

15. Another: Queen Latifah's...I mean Gwen Ifill's intro....
"And finally, we would like to remind our audience that, due to the historically low expectations of Governor Palin, were she simply to do an adequate job tonight and at no point cry, faint, run out of the building, or vomit, you should consider the debate a tie." Immediately followed by an agreeing eye wink from the Governor. Funny, but scary at the same time.

32. Her fractured syntax is maddening
Fey nailed that with a tumble of nouns and verbs which ended with "Ronald Reagan!". Queen Latifah's reaction matches mine every time Palin talks.

35. This was probably IMHO the best line! As per moment, it was when she took out the flute as if she
believed, like a beauty pageant, there was a talent competition!

The shout out to the 3rd grade class for helping her prepare for the debate was also priceless.

25. it was hilarious
Laughed the hardest at the "talent portion" where she pulled out the flute-played a few notes-and then gave a couple quick winkies and a fake smile.

Definitely liked the line about marriage between unwilling teens.

34. That was the line that got me going!
I watched it online because our Austin NBC station has pulled its signal from Time Warner while they negotiate a new contract. So until the antenna I ordered arrives, no live NBC for us. (We live out in the boonies.)

Anyway, my husband was asleep next to me and I was watching and listening with my pillow speaker and I started shaking with laughter at that line, so much so that I was sure I was going to wake my husband up!

33. Most definitely, Queen Latifah's facial expressions.
That was so funny.

There were others:

1)The part where Sarah Palin (Tina Fey) pulled out the flute and asked, "There's no talent portion?"

2)And of course, the line where she loved "Jews and Cuban food".
