PALIN: 'Yes, I think I will see Jesus come back to earth in my lifetime'
As an avid reader of blogs, I don't know how I missed this. Since I did, I thought maybe others have as well so please forgive me if this is "old news" to some.

This to me is even more frightening than Palin's ineptitude for the VP slot. The combination is absolutely so dangerous for our country that it should be an immediate disqualifier for the McCain/Palin ticket.

1. Perhaps Palin needs to read the bible again so she
will understand what it really says. That myth about dinosaur and human footprints has been debunked a long time ago.

2. Gary Shandling, on Real Time last night, retorted: "Hasn't Jesus suffered enough"?

3. I think that was Mahar's closing line ... it was
Bill's New Rules where I first heard Palin's quote and I googled it cause I didn't believe she really would say it. Boy was I wrong!

4. I'm with Sarah on the Christ returning matter
Christ's promise to return by no later than 100 AD is explicit, and if someone wants to say he didn't make that promise then why think he even existed in the first place?

Every day that passes without Christ returning is a standing refutation of one of his most important promises to the faithful.

So why shouldn't he return tomorrow?

I see no point in mocking a stupid religious belief that is no stupider than the many more socially acceptable beliefs.

15. What's really stupid is to give the nuclear football to someone who believes this shit
Cell phone healing is pretty harmless in contrast.

5. Several of our recently, THANKFULLY deceased
TV preachers declared the same thing. I'm not sorry to laugh and point and say they were full of shit. No, honey, Christ is an abstract concept that is within us and isn't going to ride down from heaven with a shiny sword to save you from witches.

Although I wish Jesus could save us from HER!

6. the Dinosaur stuff is crazy but I wouldn't call believing that Christ will return in your lifetime
crazy. Its a belief that many feel, especially after things like the Tsunami, 9/11, Katrina etc. I don't believe that he will necessarily return in my lifetime but as a religious person I think it could happen. Where I disagree with SP is on the creationism over evolution theory. I believe that creationism is not a science, shouldn't be taught in schools, and can coexist with evolution if you don't take every exact thing in the bible (ex. god created the world in 7 days) literally. She should keep her religious beliefs in the church and out of our government.

8. The damage done by patriarchy and its "one-god" myth making ...
has brought us to the threshold of the total destruction of nature --

thus proving how out of accord with Creation the myths are --

12. I so agree!
This way of thinking has caused big problems that we have in the world nowadays! Christians want to convert the rest of this world into Christianity. The Muslims want to do the same with their faith and so do the Jews... not to mention another 800+ different denominations with their variety of Deities, Prophets and Gurus. What a gigantic mess!

To me it is like a huge sewer with different pipes where at the end we all drown into stupidity, hate, fear, ignorance, terrorism, unthinkable pain, suffering and ultimately death. Humanity needs to uncover its Universal religion so peace and freedom in true brotherhood will replace the present religious despicable carnage the world is suffering!

IMO - No intelligent man should endorse, promote or support anything that kills or someone dies because of his faith and religion.

11. Thank you for saying that
and whether or not someone believes Christ is a myth or not, what you said makes all of that irrelevant.
