For those questioning Biden's sincere emotions when speaking of his sons
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 06:54 AM by Blue_Roses
and the horrible accident that took his wife and child, tell them not only was he sincere about that but remember, his son is leaving for Iraq today and that HAS to also tear at his heart strings too. He knows what it's like over there and I'm sure as a father he's worried for his safety.

My rwing brother-in-law thought Biden was faking the emotion last night for political staging. What a jerk:argh:

1. Thanks o.k.,.....
Just tell him Sarah Palin has politically staged her whole campaign!

I'm so glad that Joe was able to be on stage the night before his son goes to Iraq. It just shows what a champ he is.

What a guy!

2. How could anyone question the emotions of someone who has buried their wife and child?
You can't fake that.

3. I had a similar conversation. I told the person to go rent some empathy...

I would have said the same thing if the candidates' roles had been reversed.

I also said that people who have had their spouses and children die get carte blanche to cry about it any time they like. The person I was talking to mentioned how long ago that was. The only reply I could think of for that was, "Oh, well I guess that makes it all better."

4. I take Joe at his word when he shows emotions
He's a hell of a lot more genuine than someone who fucking lugs out the disabled baby prop trick every single fucking time!

6. Honestly, I doubted it. But my husband said he knows how that kind of thing happens
when you say something and it chokes you up out of nowhere.

14. I completely know how that happens. The other day someone asked me
for a vet recommendation. I gave my vet a glowing review and started to mention how wonderful they were when I had to put my cat down after a long illness. It happened FIVE years ago, and I wasn't in a sad mood or anything, but all of the sudden I got really choked up as I described what happened.

Multiply that by the pain Joe Biden went through and I can completely understand the emotion welling up out of nowhere. Especially since he's also sending his son into Iraq.

7. My grandmother lost a son at age 2
And I know that you never forget the child and you never get over it. To lose your only daughter--a BABY--AND your wife---yes, Joe has the right to choke up about that anytime.

10. And it was like she was trying to find a way to top that story. It was sick.

11. Her lack of compassion is so typical.
These fundies are so self-centered. Instead of saying that she was sorry for his loss, she was planning her next soundbite. They tout the name of Jesus whenever it suits them but still have not learned the compassion of Jesus. They can call me a bleeding heart liberal all day long. I would rather that be a "character flaw" of mine than to be as callous and crude.

12. Biden's Emotional Moment
The Critics are jumping on Biden already over this. As a woman, it really disgusts me that men who step up to care for their children are not praised or even acknowledged. I am one of those women who believe in abolishing alimony payments, they are outdated, sexist and unfair especially when no children are involved. Child support however, is the only exception. I know that was off topic but that's where I'm coming from. So having said that, I felt Biden’s emotions where genuine and those cynical critics out there on the right wing only prove to me that their party is psychopathically void of compassion. I will defend ANY father who shows affection for his children. The debate reinforced my observation that Palin is faking it all the way through the elections, she didn’t even promote McCain. Who was it that she was promoting?
I heard the Republicans saying watch out 2012 Palin. Yeah, thanks John for the VP pick, this is about me now, Todd and I have plans when we get into office. That doesn't surprise me, she has been labeled by her own state as a politician that bites the hand that feed her.

13. Any cold hearted republican doubting Biden's display of emotion - ask them this:
What is your explanation of John Boehner? He cries all of the time while speaking in Congress while discussing what they are going to vote on that day.
