Just got home from Debate party--Biden nailed it!!
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 10:49 PM by book_worm
I admit the party was partisan and pro-Obama. We figured some of the pundits would give Palin credit for just being mediocre, which she was, instead of an absolute disaster. But Biden was GREAT. He answered the questions and didn't side step like Palin. He was respectful of John McCain calling him a friend and that he loves her, while Palin was her usual vindictive self having no respect for Obama. Yet Biden got his points across much better than the one-note Palin. As a consensus we felt that Biden's best moments were:

1) His understanding of the VP role and how dangerous Cheney is.
2) The human side of the man when he spoke with emotion of the death of his first wife and daughter and his understanding of being a single parent.
3) When he threw the "Bridge to Nowhere" back into Palin's face.
4) His great understanding of the economic mess and how real people are affected.

Sarah one-note showed little grace. Could find little to criticize about herself. She was snarky and talked without taking a breath mostly in circles.

Joe Biden is the man. Thank God the polls are showing it. He was the easy winner in the CBS and CNN polls of undecided voters (by 2-1 in the CBS poll). He is a man of substance vs. a cartoon figure--and frankly an ice queen.

1. Now, let's turn this into "the wink heard 'round the world"

Any hope Palin had of presenting herself as serious and credible vanished in the wink of her eye.

Finally, revenge for the Dean Scream!

2. she's winking to the big business interests that she's just kidding that McCain/Palin
would be no different than Bush/Cheney.
