Answering my question from last night ("I guess the rescue/bailout isn't a spending bill")
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 08:06 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Last night I noted the peculiarity of the Senate voting first on this package because the Constitution mandates that spending and taxation bills must originate in the House.

Heard a Senator today explain that the whole rescue plan is being ammended onto the now-annual AMT suspension bill the House already passed, but that the Senate hadn't gotten to yet.

So my question for tonight is, what is the House going to be voting on? Answering my own question, I assume it is going to conference (where it won't be changed) and that the House vote will be actually a vote on the conference report.

This has to be the largest disparity EVER between an original bill and the same bill coming out of conference.
