VIDEO: McCain Gets Testy in Defense of Sex Ed Ad

October 1, 2008 - 11:32am

Senator John McCain had a tense exchange with the editorial board of the Des Moines Register yesterday when he was questioned about his controversial TV ad that implied Obama supported explicit sex education for kindergartners. The lie asserted by the McCain campaign's TV ad was that there are not a good reasons to teach kids to have healthy respect for themselves and their bodies, to teach them how to protect themselves from different threats at all ages in an age-appropriate manner. This is exactly the kind of politics that has created a stalemate in Washington. The kinds of stalemates that make working through, oh, say, a finanical crisis, almost impossible.

McCain: I Take Strong Exception To Accusations That My Campaign Is Lying

John McCain met yesterday with the editorial board of the Des Moines Register, where he had a very tense exchange over whether his campaign has been honest in its personal attacks against Barack obama:

McCain was asked how he can inspire confidence with less than 100% absolute truth in his campaign. "Because I've always had 100% absolute truth, and that's been my life of putting my country first, and I'll match that record against anyone's, and I'm proud of it," McCain said. "And an assertion that I've ever done otherwise, I take strong exception to."

1. "My honorable service to this country"
In other words, "shut the hell up and bow down to me ... I can say or do anything I want." What an asshole

:puke:

3. always resorts to his "unfrozen caveman lawyer" past as a shield to present lies
But, you see I used to be a PoW and I'll place my service to country against anyones.

2. He really bristled at the challenge to his integrity.
Show me a shithead with zero principles, and I'll show someone who THINKS they have some. He has no principles. He says whatever he thinks will help him right now, and tomorrow, he'll say something else if he thinks that will work. Truth means nothing to McCain.

4. Wow, he thinks an interview like this will help him get votes in Iowa? He was incredibly hostile
to that woman. Seriously, it scares me that he could be near the nuclear "button".

5. He probably thought the local interviewer would be uncontroversial
They're usually handpicked.

He reminds me of Dole. He's probably exhausted.
