Is Kerry and Edwards rally tonight going to be covered?
After Bush gives his speech and RNC convention is over, Kerry is going to give a response in a speech and rally with Edwards in Ohio. Will this be shown By C-span or other cable networks?

1. Probably not...
...that's part of our BIGGEST challenge. Even if/when we hit back, does it matter if the media is dismissive? Gore's speeches were absolutely spot on, but the media ignored the content and decided to call him loony.

3. That's A Good Question
Has the Kerry campaign worked to try to line up coverage?

19. The Kerry Campaign has a rather elaborate press advance operation
Edited on Thu Sep-02-04 05:00 PM by mbali
that ensures that the press can and will cover the event. In fact, a contingent of press travels with both Kerry and Edwards and are taken good care of to make sure they get the sound and pictures they need.

Now, whether the networks decide to actually SHOW the event live is another question and something the campaign has no control over.

The fact that it's taking place in the middle of the night will both help and hurt coverage.

Regardless what the cable networks do, the event will get HUGE local coverage throughout the state of Ohio - which is very, very important.

4. I understand that C-SPAN will carry it live
and My guess is that some of the cable news networks will too because they are labeling the speech as a rebuttal to Bush.

9. what do you suggest?
Commercial TV is not going to carry it live unless we pay for it. That would be millions. It is probable that the cable news show will show it as well.

6. Is CNN having Terry McAuliffe do commentary on Bush's speech??
Just like they had Ed Gillespie on after Kerry's speech?

Doh, another rhetorical question. Silly me.

13. Doubtless.
The Dayton Daily News and Springfield News-Sun have both been good for covering all the political appearances in the Miami Valley, not just the Dim Son's. Both papers require a registration -- I live here and I hate to register for this stuff, and we get the DDN every day through subscription anyway -- but if you're interested in seeing how they cover the rally, here are their websites:

DUer Kukesa will be there to represent, and I hope she comes home with some great stories and a kick-ass DU thread about her experiences!

Check out the DU Ohio Forum for more info on tonight's rally... also, post-rally accounts might show up there before GD2004, so be sure to check in!

I was asking because I wanted to watch it tonight if it was going to be shown.
