Bad Tweety is back!!!!!!!!! He was on Morning Joe
He said McCain won the debate. Then he said that he did not think PA would tip towards Obama. He said the people in PA like to vote for the person who is more like John Wayne and basically that McCain was more like John Wayne. Then he said Hillary would have helped Obama on the ticket in PA.

He was asked that because Chuck Todd had just moved PA to toss-up.

7. That is not what I heard!
He said he thought Obama would win PA in the end but was going to have some trouble in those racist, blue collar areas. I never heard him say McCain won the debate, maybe I missed that, but he did reference the troll again.

Are you sure your not being just a tad bit defensive?

14. The first words out of his mouth after they talked about his book was that
McCain won the debate! No, I did not imagine it. Then Joe and Mika said that they thought Obama won it. Then Chris said no, John McCain won it because the first 40 minutes were about earmarks. Then he started saying something about the economy. Blah..blah..blah. They asked him if PA was tipping Obama's way and he said NO and then he made the John Wayne analogy.

8. Did he mention why mccain won the debate? Was it
the ad mccain made before the debate that said he won? The lies, the rudeness and general nastiness? What swayed tweety?

15. He said because they spent all that time talking about
earmarks and then he also said something else about the economy that I did not hear. He did call John McCain a troll and the look on Joe's face was priceless. LOL

9. turned on for a second
and Tweety was saying "We need the federal checks published in the newspaper! This is why Republicans always win on lower taxes!" Grrrr.

Robert Gibbs did pawn Joe Scarborough a couple minutes later when he said that the Obama campaign was raising expectations for the Veep debate. Gibbs said "WE built Sarah Palin up?! I think that you better walk over to the bathroom, turn on the light, and look in the mirror."

13. Several said McCain won the debate. Huh??? There were polls on the screen...
as they spoke PROVING otherwise. Aside from suspicion about their own political leanings, I guess we can't discount a desire for the race to go down to the wire, dead even, to keep ratings as high as possible. It's disgusting.

18. Tweety only cares about how aggressive the players were
Remember his book, the one that said that politics is pugilism, and how he was received by Jon Stewart for his cynical take on politics? He may well believe that McCain won simply because McCain was more aggressive with Obama, and Obama was directly trying to humiliate McCain. I also think that Tweety still has a sixties mentality, and can't wrap his head around Obama.

19. Tweety's movie analogies can get SO dumb.
When McCain is at his best, he is John Wayne. I have also heard him say that McCain is Tom Hanks. All I've ever heard him compare Obama to, at his best, is Denzel Washington. Hmmmm.

20. He will struggle to win PA
I live in the northeast Philly suburbs and I can tell you---there are a ton of McCain signs. I was actually surprised at how many McCain signs there are. I remember some of my neighbors sporting HIllary signs during the primary and I can tell you--they have not been replaced with Obama signs.

There is such an animal as the Clinton/McCain voter and much of that may be racist but it is what it is. I don't think Matthews was far off in saying that Hillary was a parking place during the primary for some McCain voters. And yes---I know there are people who will not vote for him because of his race.

It's sickening, but true.

I still have hopes Obama will win this thing but it is far from a gimmie. Kerry won this state by about 100,000 votes--that's it. It was that close. I expect this one could be even closer.

21. Yes PA. Will be tough. Thats why Biden should be really
putting in the work there. I have a lot of friends who stay in PA. Who are worried, that if the younger voters don't show up big he may be in big trouble there

He said the Democrats ALWAYS go with the party insider, the long timer and never goes for the guy formt the outside.

My cat has more political acumen than Tweety.

26. YES, that is the only thing that makes me feel better. Last year
he was saying that Obama did not have a chance at all. He was dismissive towards him. Then he concentrated on Hillary and Rudy. Then once Obama started winning he kept saying that Hillary would still pull it out. The Clintons are strong. They never lose. They had the super delegates. Blah..blah..blah. Obama proved him wrong then and I hope he does the same again.

27. Tweety got the Memo... from corporate headquarters....
that, with Rachel in the stable for MSNBC,
it appeared that the network was much too 'leftie;'
thus Tweety hadda go to the mat for McCain
and preserve the notion of network objectivity.

It must be noted that Tweety has severe diabetes
and there are times when his blood sugar must be
off the charts,
or he's eating those M & M's in the green room
(snacks reserved for guests)...
and he's agitated, rabid and aggressive.

I think the demands of being available
to go 'on air' at any whim gets to his
schedule of meds, diet and exercise.

28. Tweedy is out of touch - the last John Wayne movie was in 1976
The youngest people voting were born in 1990! Assuming people are not all that influenced by (non-kid) movies until they are about 10 years old. There are people born in each of 23 years who are voting and did not grow up with John Wayne movies.

He is remembering the PA of his own childhood.

I really have a hard time with his ignoring the PA polls which Obama is winning and ignoring that at least part of HRC's win was that she had the big party machine behind her and that Obama will have that in November.
