What I'm Doing with my Next 3 Weeks!
So I've got a big job interview coming up on Tuesday (big because my college loans kick in in November, I get knocked off my parents health insurance in December, and if I'm not employed by then I'm royally screwed). I think I should be in pretty good shape to get it. But, even if I do, it doesn't start until October 20th. So I'll have another 3 weeks of time to kill, and honestly I'm going stir-crazy just sitting around the house. So I've decided that on Wednesday I'm going to the Obama HQ for Baltimore County and signing up to volunteer until the job (*knock on wood*) starts up. I'll bust my ass from then until the 20th, both to help Obama and to help get me on a somewhat normal sleep cycle hahaha (This staying up til 4, waking up at 1 shit won't work with a 9-5).

What do you guys think? Good way to spend a couple of weeks? :)

1. Get signed on as an intern - that will be another thing to list on your resume
Interns have set times and numbers of hours to work and more specific duties - the position is more like a regular job, just unpaid. But the campaign will write letters of recommendation specifying the type of experience.

Lots of the interns in our local office are students or graduates from the law school waiting for results from their bar exams. They hope to have good stuff listed when they apply for positions in the more numerous Deocratic elected officials' offices after the election.

2. I think that's an excellent way to spend a couple of weeks, Dbdmjs1022
And, in some areas, the Democratic Party has paid canvassing positions available. I did both paid and volunteer canvassing in '06. You could do both and earn a little cash.

Good luck with the job interview! :hi:

You may also want to keep your eyes and ears open for other job possibilities, however, no matter whether you volunteer or not -- just in case the job you are interviewing doesn't pan out. It's good to keep looking until you land the job you want. In the meantime, however, I do hope it all goes as planned for you. :)
