I need DU's help. A friend told me he'd vote for Obama under one condition:
If I can provide him a list of seven pieces of legislation he's introduced since coming to the U.S. Senate that passed and affected policy in some way. Specifically, he'd like at least one thing concerning unions.

I can talk at length about Obama's policies until I'm blue in the face, but legislative history is something I'm shaky on and not sure where to look for this.

Please help. I'm in reddest Kentucky, but it'd be nice to get one more vote, right?

have spouted "conventional wisdom" nonsense that has turned our country into a dysfunctional nightmare. The Crowleys, Brokaws and their brothers and sisters in America's media are just as responsible for the shit we live in as are Reagan, Bush I and Bush II. Damn them all.

10. HI...I am in Lexington...
tonight I had dinner with two friends. One is going to vote for Obama but thinks McCain is a good man, the other hadn't made up her mind. I asked her why she was having issues with Obama and she wouldn't give me an answer. I asked if I could get some some information on Obama's stands on issues and the like and I was quickly told, "nope...got everything I need." Will try again but I told her that if she wanted to get this country back where it needed to be, then she needed to vote for Obama. All I can do.

You should check out Obama's Senate site, it should have his legislation listed.

12. Remind him that with Bush vetoing most Democratic bills (his approach being
to sign bills only if they had majority Republican support), this is hardly the measure of a successful Senator.

15. Hi, I'll try to help some.
This one I know for sure of-- the Google for Government, which puts the entire Federal budget online for people to look up. He did this together with Tom Coburn.

Upon further research, Obama also wrote an anti-nuclear proliferation legislation bill with Tom Hagel and an ant-WMD bill with Dick Lugar.

A good reference point would be http://obama.senate.gov/issues/ although it does seem to require some organization.

30. Here is the info, available on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bills_sponsored_by_Barack_Obama_in_the_United_States_Senate

From the article:

"Obama has sponsored 136 bills since Jan 4, 2005. Two have become law. This figure does not include bills to which Obama contributed very substantially as cosponsor, such as the Coburn-Obama Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 or the Lugar-Nunn Cooperative Proliferation Detection, Interdiction Assistance, and Conventional Threat Reduction Act of 2006. Nor does it include amendments to other bills, although in the Senate these are not required to be germane to the parent bill and can therefore effectively be bills in their own right. Obama has co-sponsored 619 bills during the same time period."

Sarah Palin is qualified to head this nation.

IMHO, your friend sounds like he has no intention of voting for Obama even if you do provide a list.

40. He's a scab, tell him that for me
If this guy is pretending to be pro-Union, and is even thinking of voting McCain, he is a scab in my book, as McCain bats a big zero on Union issues. Ask him for one union legislation that McCain has introduced. There is not one.
Your scab pal can kiss my Union ass.
