Here's how to make sure they don't weasel out of the Biden/Palin debate
What we should do is ask our friends and acquaintances, "So, how do you think they'll try to get Sarah Palin out of debating Joe Biden?" Use it as a conversation starter. Get the idea that they're going to try to ditch the debate (which they surely are) out there. If anyone is surprised to hear it, explain that that was why McCain tried to cancel last night's debate. The important thing is that we get everybody to be suspicious of them and their motives. That way they will either be forced to have her participate (a win for us) or everybody immediately calls bullshit when she cancels (also a win for us).

The key thing is that people know to expect their weaseling. So please, ask your friends and family: "How do you think they'll try to get her out of the debate?" It's not only effective, it's fun!

3. It works with republicans too.
Forces them to defend her and say "Oh, she'll be there all right!"

4. I'm going to a party tonight
I'll be sure to ask everyone I strike up a conversation with. I love the whole idea of starting a whispering campaign that Palin's too chicken and incompetant to face Biden!

9. I think they generally shoot for 9PM Eastern.
That way it's prime time nationwide. But I haven;t heard the specific time yet.

8. He's already failed in trying to get out of the VP debates.
McCain was trying to get away with no debates at all, but Obama wouldn't let him get away with it. It's now too late for them to get out of the VP debates. McCain has already been called out and force to perform against his will. He cannot now risk a similar calling out on the VP debates. It's a no-win situation now.

12. My guess: She'll quit the ticket before she'll be so humiliated as to debate Joe Biden
It's not gonna happen. The republican powers that be aren't going to let that happen. There are too many fighting for their lives down ticket.

13. I agree with you
I was just sitting stunned last night after the debates wondering how in the hell are they going to send her out on that stage. Seriously.

It doesn't matter if expectations are low -- nobody is going to be able to teach her how to construct a proper sentence if she already doesn't know how to at 44.

While we all believe that chimpy is "high functioning moron" the fact of the matter is his father was always involved in government -- Congress, Senate (right?) and the White House. My point being, with lauding Bush, is that this woman is a complete idiot who has never been around this stuff and obviously had no personal curiosity that would provide a framework with which to coach her.

It is going to be completely transparent if they come up with some "family emergency."

After the next round of Katie interviews at the beginning of next week it is going to become very clear to the GOP that they have no choice but to dump her from the ticket.

And then a second later, I think they'll never do this!

ARGH! I have Palinitis!

14. My son and I have already started this! We've been brainstorming ideas
I gotta say we're having fun with it too.

After that nasty speech she read at the RNC Convention mocking Obama and the Democrats - she deserves humiliation and all my scorn.

My belief is this, if she (or they, the McCain people) tries to use a family emergency or whatever reason, it won't fly all that well.

Those in high office cannot let anything get in the way of governing this nation. Nothing.

Look, how many men and women, but especially women, get into trouble or fear of losing their job if they take time off for family issues? The working class rarely gets sympathy. The working class gets hit hard when anything interferes with their job.

It would have to be a true emergency that can be verified independently from the McCain-Palin sycophants who be would willing to lie and/or risk their credibility to protect her.

I honestly believe there will not be a debate between Senator Biden and Sarah Palin. It would be too disastrous for McCain, but fun for me.

Brainstorming here: I wonder if the McCain people would try to change the objectives of the debate. You know,

1. make the answers yes or no only, or
2. make the answers multiple choice. Or
3. allow her to know the questions in advance and let her read the answers via teleprompter. Or,
4. Palin bows out of the race, only to re-enter the next day. Or
5. they replace her entirely with someone else, yet too late for Biden to debate that person.
