1. If he does he still loses
The anti-abortion crowd will never vote for Liarman, and will pull their support from McCain!

2. hmmmmmm.... Maybe he's thinking that Lieberman would be a better alternative to Palin
since the CorpMedia is bashing her so badly.

What would the base think?

6. Christ, another ridiculous thread. Do you comprehend how pissed off the GOP base would be?

8. He picks up a few independents than loses the entire base
You can't give the fundies meat than take it away. The idea of someone crazier than Bush as Prez is on their brain. The GOP is in trouble for many years after that pick.

10. That would leave him with the same share of the electorate
that still supports His Chimperial Majesty, the Emperor of Dumbfuckistan. About 20%. The fundies' and Freepers' heads would literally explode. Obama would win a majority like he won in IL four years ago. Utter massacre.

13. Not a chance
The fundies would be pissed off enough to stay home if Palin is pushed out. But they'd be burning McCain in effigy on every street corner if Lieberman was her replacement. They'd lose more votes than they'd gain with such a move, no question.

15. The God, guns and gays...
...base that he won over with Palin would mutiny with Leiberman. The base doesn't even like McCain, they are just tolerating him, they hate Leiberman.

He would help Ron Paul and Bob Barr.

16. Not sure it would be Lieberman, but if the change is coming, it's going to be this week and no later
I was thinking about it this morning, and if Pailure is really going to duck out, this week will be a perfect chance, just before she is scheduled to appear in the debates.

If she doesn't step out this week, then she's in it until the end.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that her daughter has had some issue with her pregnancy and that she needs to return home to be with her family, or that she has had some personal issue that cannot be resolved on the campaign trail, perhaps something relating to Troopergate. The only problem with this is that Pailure has claimed her family is not a distraction in her ability to fulfill her position as VP and that suggesting otherwise is clearly sexist. She has herself in quite a small box right now.

After the Couric interview, it is now glaringly obvious that she has absolutely zero ability to even construct a cohesive sentence let alone to debate Joe Biden or another experienced politician. Her only options at this point are to walk into the lion's den and be eaten alive, or to bow out due to some serious family issue that she cannot ignore. Either way, she will be admitting utter failure, and McLiar will be left to yet again change the focus of his entire campaign, message, and focus.

The outs that McLiar et al have are increasingly shrinking in number. What will the Maverick do next?
