Because it takes lots of time and resources to get these things set up. Not to mention, grandpa will change his mind, and show up, when he realizes that it is political suicide to act like a chicken, who can't multitask.

Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 07:48 PM by rainbow4321
if the debate doesn't go on. If McLame bitches, someone needs to bring up the fact that the venue will reportedly be out of several million
dollars that they have spent in preparing for the debate!

The debate watch party I am going to is at a local restaurant...over 160 people have signed up to go!! Word is that we will have the restaurant to ourselves now since so many people are expected to attend!!!!!!

14. Yes McCain will fly in at the last minute and all the networks will be watching his plane

during the debate he will say things like,

"I am sorry Jim my mind was distracted could you please repeat the question"

He will have a terrible debate but a built in excuse.

He can show how badly the McCain camp is imploding but not to the extreme. nt

23. I've been trying to say... McSame is trying to drag Obama into suspending this race
by suspending his debate and trying to drag Obama into it.

They do a photo op yesterday and throw out yesterday's deal. And who the hell knows what deal this is? But it looks like Bush is robbing us with history being the only judge jury and oversight.

31. No debate.
Obama will show up, take off the jacket, roll up the sleeves and take questions from the audience for 90 minutes. (They should probably install phone lines so that Jim Lehrer can say, "Minot North Dakota, hello. Do you have a question for the Senator?") Obama will be engaging and concise; he will demonstrate a superb grasp of the issues and a quiet sense of humor. The Mississippians will already have been enraptured by him because he will have helped them build three Habitat houses in hurricane-ravaged Waveland that afternoon.

At the evening's conclusion, the crowd will roar its lusty approval. Saturday morning will find the polls at a 70-30 split. And at whatever minute Lehrer decides to start the evening (will he give 5 minutes like you do for a college professor?), that minute will be the one at which McCain concedes the election.

32. McCain has painted himself into a corner.
By his own action, he has derailed the bill so that it cannot be agreed before Friday night. He cannot now show up, after making a big deal. And yet, what's his excuse for not showing? They'd better be seen working on something Friday night in DC.
