My name is Laura. I am a Gallup Daily junkie.
I watch this everyday. I am obsessed. It is the very first thing I look at when I get home from work - even before DU. Don't waste your breath (keystrokes)to say - "just a snapshot" "these polls don't mean anything." "gallup's a right wing tool" I have watched this poll every day for months. I know it is a forerunner to the national match ups and then lagging later, the state polls. But, the tie today has me totally floored. Nothing has happened.

1. Gallup text says the big reason for this number is a good polling day for Obama was dropped
They also say that there is no indication McCain's craziness significantly helped him. Popular vote percentage according to daily snapshots will be close right up until the end.

4. what does "dropped" mean? They just didn't poll last night?...
.... and if so, why are we giving them ANY attention at all?

5. 3 day rolling average is used
Snapshots are just snapshots--there will be no concrete poll in the mess we have now. Everything is inconsequential at this point.

7. It's a moving 3 days so they dropped the fourth day back which
was so good for him. It all goes in waves. I should project it out and see if Nov 3 is on one of Obama's up waves. There must be so much more in play than the events of the day that moves this so much.

2. Laura, I'm a Poll Junkie
Its better to be a poll junkie than a Gallup junkie, cuz then you can see that there were like 5 other polls that had Obama up by at least three.

8. Hi fellow junkie. I am just waiting for him to blow it away. I would
think more and more people would realize everyday Obama's the way to go - Not gonna happen, I guess.

11. It IS my only hope. Gallup Daily is the sneak preview to the DW!
GD is the harbinger. But, it takes a full week + for all the rest of the polls to catch up. So, October 27th is the key GD poll...
