WHY? McCain said the economy isn't his strong suit. I can't wait for the debates!

2. Obama has done nothing to solve their problems since last Thursday
(Don't worry; McCain isn't exactly setting the world on fire either.)

5. He gave a speech looking and sounding presidential compared to McCain's schizophrenic
moves.

Damn you, Barack.

We are probally at again mccain staying at 44/45 and Obama with a small lead of anywhere from 1 to 4
points depending on the day.

4. Why?
What about:

1. The Dem candidate for Prez is african american and his middle name;
2. Most registered voters are not informed about the issues and the importance of this election;
3. McCain getting away with flip flopping on his positions with the economy and regulations;
4. Conservatives getting a hard on over Palin;
5. Hillary supporters that are crazy.

This is a good start but there is more....

6. Sad but probably all true...
Hopefully most of that (except your first point) will change after the debates.

22. Imagine if none of that stuff was around.
Kerry could tell you how the polls are doing for Obama.

7. Take comfort - McCain's numbers aren't going up
To me, that says that there was a predictable surge to Obama based on initial reaction to the financial crisis. That's starting to subside as the news isn't about the impending collapse of all civilized society anymore, but about the bailout fixing everything. So soft Obama support on the economic issues is turning back into undecided as panic fades away, but it's not shifting to McCain.

Let's see what the debates do...

8. What I think we're seeing
McCain has a base around 43% or so. Obama has one around 45%. Each is getting a couple percent of undecideds leaning their way (Obama getting a bit more of those).

I don't think that they have changed their minds on Obama, just that they went from leaning toward Obama back to undecided. Why?

Well, what has happened the past few days? Economy, economy, economy. A few leaners are going to sit out a little longer to make sure they agree with their candidate on this important issue.

i would expect that unless Obama botches this, they will come back to him, and then some. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 49-45 again, or even 50-45 in a few days.

10. I just knew...
someone would bring this up....the weekend issue and cell phones...these 2 issues always pop up when a poll comes out that is not as good for Obama than we would like....weekend and cell phones...haha!

16. Nah. That's not the pattern. IF there's a pattern, his numbers go down at times during weekends...
but it's already Tuesday.

11. McCain likely polled very well on Sunday. Not surprising.
Obama should start to climb again tomorrow. If he doesn't, then I'll say "hmmm", but not now.

12. Why is it not suprising that...
McCain did well on Sunday?

What did McCain do that would have him do well on Sunday (or any day for that matter)?

Were you not freaking out two weeks ago when Obama was done by a few points? And he ahead again, is he not? Just chill out.

19. huh?
where did that come from?

I am just curious why someone would think that it is not suprising that McCain polled well on Sunday.

I do not think he should ever poll well because he is a lying piece of you know what and has no plans for the future of this country...he simply follows what Barak says...change...enough..etc...

Was there something wrong with my question? If it offended you, I am deeply sorry.

Take care!

Out.

14. Hmmm, McLiar not moving from that 44 to 45 range
That is good. Economic problems last week helped Obama. It has settled back down again. Next game changer is the debate on Friday. I doubt much will change give or take 1 to 2 points between now and then.
