The "60,000 that came to see Palin in Florida"? More like 25,000
Palin Continues to Attract Large Crowds
Gov. Sarah Palin drew a crowd of nearly 60,000 people to a rally she held in the battleground state of Florida, according to the Fort Myers News-Press.

"Admiring throngs mobbed the Palin family's arrival and departure, snapping souvenir pictures. Autograph seekers thrust campaign signs, caps with the McCain-Palin logo and copies of magazines with her face on their covers, and the Palins responded warmly."

Update: Jonathan Martin notes it was a local fire marshal that estimated 60,000. "But reporters on the ground, including AP's Brendan Farrington and my colleague Ken Vogel, would only say "tens of thousands," suggesting the marshal's estimate was on the high side. The St. Pete Times's Adam Smith had another fire official in the crowd say it was about 25,000."

1. And also this important fact...

Palin was placed smack-dab in the center of an enormous retirement community where 75,000 retirees live.

Anyone could get 25,000 people to come hear you speak with those geographical factors. All those retirees
had to do, was step out their front doors and walk less than 10 minutes to where she was speaking.

Gee, I know. Let's have Barack Obama speak at the Michigan v Wisconsin football game this weekend in Ann Arbor.
Then, we can claim that 80,000 people showed up to hear him speak!

:sarcasm:

McCain: Tricks, lies and a boatload of smoke and mirrors.
