Bush/Cheney will lose support due to the RNC.
Delegates mocking Kerry's Purple Heart, the Bush girls making fools of themselves, Arnold ridiculing the unemployed, booing Michael Moore louder than they boo Saddam or Osama, the fear-mongering, and just the whole crass, clueless, out-of-touch, obnoxious tone of the whole convention — face it, the RNC is a sordid, repellent spectacle that will turn off American voters if they deign to notice it in the first place.

1. Bet you're wrong
Bush will see a small bounce out of the convention. However, it will slip away when Kerry crushes him in the debates.

7. I think Kerry will crush him before the debates
but I do see a small bounce ...I haven't seen the ratings from last night..have you?

( I am assuming Kerry is not going for the jugular until the convention is over so as not to tip his hand)

12. Two things:
1. bush's supporters don't see what we've seen. They see two charming daughters (one a future teacher), more proof that Kerry is a fraud, Michael Moore as a pig, and Ahnuld as a charming foreigner who's not out to kill us.

2. Gore was expected to crush bush, and did beat him, but not in the resounding manner every one expected. As a result, bush "won" the debates.

Words like leader, strong, steady, and courage are all they hear - and want to hear. The battle for presidency isn't over by a long shot. Doesn't mean I don't look for Kerry trounce the dumbass, but it's not going to be easy. Sometimes it seems like Kerry brings a knife to a gunfight.

8. Yes but they are grateful to be making
less money and working more. Because now they can control their spending and spend quality time with the family.

4. I agree.
This convention is a perfect example of how out of touch the Rethugs really are and how they'll demonstrate it over and over if given enough room and encouragement. Remember Clinton's impeachment? It has looked bleak the last ten days or so, but, mark my words: this is their peak and the tide is turning. Let's stay steadfast, gang!

5. I recieved an email last night from my friend who voted for * in 2000
She switched her registration to Dem last year after
I kept sending her the truth .

Anyway in her email she said
"are you watching the convention what a crock of shit"

My reply was "Isn't it amazing how they put the moderate
face on the party for the election year ."

6. I kind of agree.
The DNC was so optimistic compared to this ghoulish celebration of death, war, and white men. Outside of the whorish media, I haven't heard a single good thing concerning it.

14. Buuttt buttt butttt al the Right Wing talking heads said that the
Dem Convention was a "HATE FEST" and that the ONLY issue that Kerry discussed was his service in Vietnam and that NOTHING else was talked about.

9. I concur -- negative bounce within MoE.
All the scared people are already scared.

All the bigots already have their hate on.

All the 'Christians' are already persecuted.

All the F-you boys have had their xenophobic fantasies fulfilled, unless you count nuking someone.

All the homophobes are already in their panic rooms where the faggots can't get them.

Where are the new Bush voters going to come from?

Where's their upside potential?

15. You hit the nail on the head there
very true. My long-time Repub friends admit "they don't care" what he says or does, they are Republican and they will vote Republican.......... and yes, their getting sick of me.

17. Precisely
This is not quite as awful as the infamous 1992 RNC, when Pat Buchanon's "culture war" speech drove voters to take a closer look at Clinton, but it adds absolutely nothing to the Bush campaign.

10. BTW did you all see Nightline last night?
They completely mocked the moderation being presented on the RNC floor and even seemed a bit critical about the costs for the security..

11. I think you're right
Sure the polls will show a small bounce probably, that's because the freepers who were on the couch during the previous polls will get up to their computers.

So far this convention taken at face value will do nothing but piss off those of us who hate Republicans even more, and with the stunts you've mentioned I think any sane thinking "undecided" will surely not be impressed.

So overall the polls will show a bounce, but internally those not rushing to participate in the polls will represent the majority of attitude towards the RNC.

19. This deserves some thought
It could happen. It's been a spectacle. If it keeps on like this it could turn viewers and voters away.

But, sometimes, in the short-term, Buddha is wrong about the results of speaking ill of someone.
