A Day Around Memphis.....Awesome

My wife and I went on a walking tour of our new home town(Memphis)today. We went for a walk thru the Peabody Hotel and saw the real Ducks that swim in the indoor fountain and then proceeded to world famous Beale St.there we visited shops listen to street musicians and had a fabulous BBQ lunch and Ice Tea...we then proceeded to ride the Trolley Cars down to the MLK Civil Rights Museum for an awesome guided tour of that sad day in American history....

On with the story now.....in all the places we visited we saw a a good portion of people of all walks wearing Obama gear not one person was wearing McSame wear....NO ONE!.....8 of the 30 in our MLK tour had Obama gear on.

Driving to and from downtown we witnessed a good number of Obama/Biden bumper sticks on cars and again not one for McSame/Falin.

I hope this is a good sample of support....I found this surprising considering Memphis is in the Bible belt I guess the Christians here are tired of the shit-pile we are living in.

2. That's Memphis for you. . .
Memphis is like New Orleans-- large AA population, and a LOT of Dems. Too bad the rest of the state is full of repigs.

3. You're wrong about the rest of the state.
Nashville is mostly Dem, too.

5. thanks for the post. gives me hope -
TN is going to be a challenge. I'm in Nashville, and although I don't see any McShame stickers, I know the thuglicans are out there because I hear them whining about the polls at work. Fortunately, my neighborhood (near Vanderbilt) is all Obama.

7. Welcome to Memphis!
The city itself is pretty blue. Unfortunately, if you get out into the burbs, it's a different story. But, that's the story for most places in America. I'll see the occasional Obama sticker out here, however.
