The new claims about lobbyists in Obama's campaign.

I know the claim about his being advised by the Freddie Mac (or Fannie Mae, the exact company escapes me at the moment) are false; the man came right out and said he never gave any advice, even if it was sought. But I have heard there are now new claims coming from the McCain camp about Obama being the one "in bed with lobbyists."

I am certain this is the case, but does anyone have any idea of the rough number for each campaign?

And regardless of what it is, this is not a smart game for McCain to play, if only because he has the man (next to Alan Greenspan) most responsible for our current mess as his top economic adviser and policy expert.

1. I think I've heard it said that McCain has something like 63 former and current lobbyists.

I don't have anything to back that up though. You might want to look up factcheck.org

2. I actually heard more, but thanks. I haven't been able to find a good source about Obama, however.

I'm gonna keep looking, and while I doubt it's anywhere near that high, I'd really appreciate any help anyone at DU can provide. This could be a key talking point for all of us, down to individual supporters doing things like discussing the issues at work, to use.

I am aware McCain is now trying to make the claim that it is Obama who has lobbyists in charge of everything, in a moment of classic Rovian projection. I am just looking for good numbers so, in case this issue should come up, it can be settled. That is all I meant.

why would anyone believe anything that comes out of McCain's camp? They have already proven themselves to be pathological liars.

I cannot figure out why, given that at least a few pundits and such seemed to be growing consciences, but a number of them still seem to let the McCain camp get away with it.

7. The bad news is that Obama and Biden are the top two recipients of Fanny Freddy money.

The repubs will grab that and run with it.
