I'd Like To The Obama Campaign To Continue Its Two Part Focus...
I think they are doing this, but I just hope the ignore GOP efforts to distract them with pigs, spain and Palin's yahoo account.

First, the current financial crisis. It is probable that some sort of bailout entity will be created. However, it is also clear that we can't simply just adopt another RTC, because the securities at issue are so complex and difficult to value, that the true scope of the exposure to taxpayers will be unknown. So, I would like to see some significant concerssions on regulations and transparency while pointing out that McCain has historically opposed such regulations. The justification is that if the financial industry wants taxpayers to save their ass, they better be ready to tell taxpayers more about what they do, and be held accountable. I would also STRESS that laws are worthless unless you have someone willing to enforce the laws, and note that even John McCain belatedly recognizes this by calling for the firing of Chris Cox. I would point out that McCain simply does not go far enough. We need to replace the Republicans in the White House. McCain who does not know much about the economy, and Palin who got a D in a college court simply lack the knowledge to deal with the economic challenges facing the U.S.

Second, lets have Obama continue to re-affirm his commitment to social security. Social security is a safety net that keeps millions of elderly out of poverty, We can't have this safety net dependent on current market conditions. Obama should continue to denounce any effort to privitize social security, and his commitment to preserving it. He needs to ask can you imagine if you had a private account to begin the Bush administration? Your asset growth would have been relatively flat, and below inflation. That is not social, and it does not provide any security.
