Photo Of "COUNCIL MEMBER" Sarah Palin-CAUGHT Holding - Radical Agenda
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 04:39 PM by kpete

Early Signs Of Sarah Palin's Radical Agenda

Last week, the NYT published a widely-read story about the way Sarah Palin treated her friends and foes as the Wasilla mayor. The photo leading the article, supplied by the Heath family, shows Palin flanked by the council in 1998, two years into her mayoral tenure. If you scroll down, however, the article offers a second photo, also supplied by the family, of Palin when she was still a Wasilla councilwoman. (Although undated, she was a city council member from '92 - '96.) The photo is one of those easy-to-pass-by, standard sitting-at-your-desk shots in front of your name plate.

The picture, however, is also one of those published by The Times you are invited to click to enlarge.

Doing so, what you can suddenly make out quite clearly is what Palin chose to be photographed attending to, which is a newsletter with a photo of a guy in a suit, the page headlined with the title: "Con-Con Call." A "con-con" call, if (like me) you're not versed in government-speak, is a call for a constitutional convention, intended to either revise or completely rewrite the constitution of, say, one of the states of the Union.

The point is, and what the photo telegraphs is that, even at this early stage of her local career, Palin is revealing herself as an activist officeholder with not just ambitious, but much larger and radical notions.

1. Ah well, what can I say?
though there are days I KNOW we need another convention... not though in her view of the world.

Yes, even Jefferson advocated for revising it every 20 years or so... which kills the concept of a dead document... that is another story though

23. John Birch Society is right.... now if we can find that article or improve
the photograph. The John Birch Society is a racist white organization.

Sourcewatch

JBS advocates the abolition of income tax, and the repeal of civil rights legislation, which it sees as being Communist in inspiration. For this reason, its opponents unjustly characterise it as a white citizens' society dedicated to preventing minorities from gaining political power.

12. American Opinion?
One of the first public activities of the JBS was a "Get US out of UN!" campaign, which alleged in 1959 that the "Real nature of UN is to build One World Government (New World Order)." One Man's Opinion, a magazine launched by Welch in 1956, was renamed American Opinion and became the Birch Society's official publication.

In 1960, Welch advised JBS members to "join your local PTA at the beginning of the school year, get your conservative friends to do likewise, and go to work to take it over."

She is know to have ties with the Alaska Independence Party, which I'm guessing has a lot of overlap with the JBS. It definitely make sense that she would be a member.

This afternoon, the director of Division of Elections in Alaska, Gail Fenumiai, told TPMmuckraker that Todd Palin registered in October 1995 to the Alaska Independence Party, a radical group that advocates for Alaskan secession from the United States.

Besides a short period of a few months in 2000 when he changed his registration to undeclared, Todd Palin remained a registered member of AIP until July 2002 when he registered again as an undeclared voter. ...

Due to the urgency of blowing the whistle on the COS, we ordered 100,000 copies of the reprint before the magazine came off the press. This move paid off instantly. American Opinion = The New American

There was a left-right alliance against the con-con.

Governor Leavitt was for the con-con. He is now in Bush's cabinet as Sec. of HHS.

46. John Birch Society article: Sarah Palin: John McCain's Arm Candy
http://www.jbs.org/index.php/jbs-news-feed/2930
Constitutional Party Presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin's assessment of Sarah Palin brings to light her disinterest in constitutional government.
...
Palins neocon political posturing aligns her with President George W. Bush when it comes to unilateral, pre-emptive military attacks and his complete disregard for fiscally-responsible, constitutional government. Also, she appears to be one with Juan McCain vis--vis illegal immigration, considering Alaskas sanctuary state policies. And although the Governor espouses pro-life beliefs, she will not oppose McCain when it comes to embryonic stem cell research and funding for Planned Parenthood. ...

There has to be some meaning to Palin's hand being on that article...it wasn't just random. Her Bible?

She'll abide by an ultra-fundamentalist view that wedding rings are pagan symbols but wears a flag pin and ear rings.

Pretty telling that she doesn't know if she is coming or going.

63. No, it means she wanted to be seen with this
It's a staged photo. She clearly didn't pick up some random bit of paper. She picked up that newsletter because she wanted to appear to endorse it, and to put the John Birch imprint on herself.

I have Marx's Capital in three volumes, but wouldn't appear in a photo like this with it on my desk unless the photo was for, say, something to do with Marxist theory. She's deliberately signaling her worldview to her supporters. She's made a career out of being the most extreme sort of Republican imaginable--don't let her take her uniform off now.

Though you are correct that this needs further documentation. If she's a Bircher, then we should know about it, and the evidence is out there.

Every time there has been smoke, there has been fire. You're right to say we need more evidence, and I don't expect this to be damning in and of itself. But if she is connected to the Birchers, then that's something the American people need to know.

BTW, it's not even proof that she reads. I doubt very much that she does.

60. This would make sense along with a report AC360 had
about Todd being included in certain governmental meetings ...

Alaska lawmakers say Todd Palin is a fixture at the state legislature. So much so, some told CNN theyve joked about getting buttons that read, What would Todd do?

One of those lawmakers is Lyda Green, a republican and president of the state senate, but not friend of the Palins.

I had a meeting I requested with the governor I was particularly surprised that Todd was there. I had never seen a spouse stay in the room through the meeting.

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/18/todd-palin-the-fi... /

That and the word of their involvement with the Alaskan Independence party....mmmhmmmmm

I am constantly surprised and amazed at how observant you are. Get this to the MSM ASAP!!! This is BIG NEWS. This is national SECURITY! It rubs me the wrong way, something is wrong very wrong when a woman governor with such extreme beliefs has her HUSBAND a SEPARATIST involved in every aspects of her governorship. He gets emails he sits in on all her meetings, he doles out advice. BUT HE IS AN ALASKAN SEPARATIST. HE HAS A TRAIL BEHIND HIM OF AIP TIES and he and Sarah are racists. This is obvious, glaringly obvious in reports we have heard and now with this information. Hasnt she exposed us to a real THREAT against the unity of this country and Alaska? Hasnt the Alaskan people, by electing her, exposed our entire nation to a THREAT?

I joked about it but now I am even more convinced that their intention is to get that wilderness drilled, get that pipeline readied and then break away from the Union. Who can guarantee they will not? After all of this. This info NEEDS to get out! This is a smoking gun - a 'mushroom cloud' worth of alarms going off here.

66. Palin is a radical extremist
America needs to ask the McCain campaign why they're refusing to allow Palin to be scrutinized. The McCain campaign and their surrogates love to erroneously refer to Barack Obama and Joe Biden as two of the most liberal senators even as they continue to get away with hiding Sarah Palins radical extremist off the charts right wing beliefs.

The press needs to educate the American voters about Palin's radical extremist beliefs instead of spreading McCain campaign talking points about Obama/Biden.

McCain is out of touch and suffering from cognitive problems, judging by his ever increasing gaffes, and Palin is just plain dangerous, judging by her extreme views and her frankly unfathomable lack of knowledge and experience. McCain/Palin is a recipe for disaster, and we've had enough disaster under Bush/Cheney -- we certainly don't need more of the same, or worse.

95. FIND OUT PALIN FAN's CONNECTIONS TO THESE ORGANIZATIONS
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 11:35 AM by ann_american2004
Find out how Rush 'got the idea' and everyone else she would be great.

sometimes in investigations if you have no body, you can consider all circumstantial evidence. If you take into account where all the arrows are pointing - we have found in just little over two week a GREAT DEAL to be concerned about. All of these combine into an ACTUAL BODY OF EVIDENCE that these people have been following the advice of leaders from the AIP and John Birch Society.
They joined the PTA (Birch advice/plan)
They changed their party affiliation to infiltrate popular parties (AIP advice/plan)
Todd was a carrying AIP member until the last few years. Palin spoke for their conventions
Todd attends state business. He gives a large amounts of advice on government matters (you think he will stop?)
Todd gets cc'd to many state government emails.
Todd thinks he is above the law, will not answer subpoenas.(do we want more of that?)
Birch and AIP have ties.

Now if you feel the case is thin, it still begs further investigation. I agree with another poster that if you are as image conscience as someone like Palin you would KNOW what you had in your picture and WHYits there if the photo is a 'headshot' or 'promo' you will be using often.

What I would like to know is a little bit more about this kid who 'suggested' to Rush Limbaugh that Palin should be VP. What are his and his parents ties if any to the AIP/Birch.
Need to start digging into the whys and where and originations of the plans.

"This campaign isn't about Sarah Palin, but given the likelihood that she will become president if John McCain were to win this election, the media, the conservative establishment, and the McCain campaign must each come to grips with the mounting evidence pointing towards Sarah Palin's support for Alaskan secession."

"If, as seems likely to be the case, Sarah Palin was ever a secessionist or was sympathetic to secessionists then John McCain, who has spent nearly his entire life working for the Federal government, must dump her from his ticket."

Speculation?

104. Con-Con
The Alaska constitution provides that every 10 years the voters are given an opportunity to convene a constitutional convention for the purpose of reviewing, and possibly recommended revisions to, the state constitution. To date, the people have not approved a "con-con." The constitution may also be amended if 2/3s of both houses of the legislature agree to place a proposed amendment before the voters. That has happened several times. One concept that has been on the ballot a couple of times, and failed to pass, is a revision to provide for an elected Attorney General. Most Alaskans, particularly Democrats, have opposed this measure. Given the transparent abuse of power by the current AG in the demonstrably corrupt Palin administration, it might just pass if proposed once again.

She probably rose up with the slant she has within her environment, but she is the perfect example of a person that the right wing wants to plant everywhere. They are not just looking at the WH and control of Congress or the Supreme ourt and District courts, they also want them imbedded everywhere in the PTA, civic local, county, state positions. They HAVE BEEN GROOMING this type of person for decades. Very smart strategy for their purposes, not ours. (ex: Pat Robertsons law school went directly to the Justice Dept - in exchange for the Robertson's allottment of votes that he garners for the RW, plus little old ladies and gents calling in to the WJ spewing lies and hate - young ones also, of course).
