Early Signs Of Sarah Palin's Radical Agenda



Last week, the NYT published a widely-read story about the way Sarah Palin treated her friends and foes as the Wasilla mayor. The photo leading the article, supplied by the Heath family, shows Palin flanked by the council in 1998, two years into her mayoral tenure. If you scroll down, however, the article offers a second photo, also supplied by the family, of Palin when she was still a Wasilla councilwoman. (Although undated, she was a city council member from '92 - '96.) The photo is one of those easy-to-pass-by, standard sitting-at-your-desk shots in front of your name plate.

The picture, however, is also one of those published by The Times you are invited to click to enlarge.

Doing so, what you can suddenly make out quite clearly is what Palin chose to be photographed attending to, which is a newsletter with a photo of a guy in a suit, the page headlined with the title: "Con-Con Call." A "con-con" call, if (like me) you're not versed in government-speak, is a call for a constitutional convention, intended to either revise or completely rewrite the constitution of, say, one of the states of the Union.

The point is, and what the photo telegraphs is that, even at this early stage of her local career, Palin is revealing herself as an activist officeholder with not just ambitious, but much larger and radical notions.

One Man's Opinion, a magazine launched by Welch in 1956, was renamed American Opinion and became the Birch Society's official publication.

In 1960, Welch advised JBS members to "join your local PTA at the beginning of the school year, get your conservative friends to do likewise, and go to work to take it over."

It's a staged photo. She clearly didn't pick up some random bit of paper. She picked up that newsletter because she wanted to appear to endorse it, and to put the John Birch imprint on herself.

I have Marx's Capital in three volumes, but wouldn't appear in a photo like this with it on my desk unless the photo was for, say, something to do with Marxist theory. She's deliberately signaling her worldview to her supporters. She's made a career out of being the most extreme sort of Republican imaginable--don't let her take her uniform off now.

Though you are correct that this needs further documentation. If she's a Bircher, then we should know about it, and the evidence is out there.

America needs to ask the McCain campaign why they're refusing to allow Palin to be scrutinized. Find out how Rush 'got the idea' and everyone else she would be great.

sometimes in investigations if you have no body, you can consider all circumstantial evidence. If you take into account where all the arrows are pointing - we have found in just little over two week a GREAT DEAL to be concerned about. All of these combine into an ACTUAL BODY OF EVIDENCE that these people have been following the advice of leaders from the AIP and John Birch Society.
They joined the PTA (Birch advice/plan)
They changed their party affiliation to infiltrate popular parties (AIP advice/plan)
Todd was a carrying AIP member until the last few years. Palin spoke for their conventions
Todd attends state business. He gives a large amounts of advice on government matters (you think he will stop?)
Todd gets cc'd to many state government emails.
Todd thinks he is above the law, will not answer subpoenas.(do we want more of that?)
Birch and AIP have ties.

Now if you feel the case is thin, it still begs further investigation. I agree with another poster that if you are as image conscience as someone like Palin you would KNOW what you had in your picture and WHYits there if the photo is a 'headshot' or 'promo' you will be using often.

What I would like to know is a little bit more about this kid who 'suggested' to Rush Limbaugh that Palin should be VP. What are his and his parents ties if any to the AIP/Birch.
Need to start digging into the whys and where and originations of the plans.

To date, the people have not approved a "con-con." The constitution may also be amended if 2/3s of both houses of the legislature agree to place a proposed amendment before the voters. That has happened several times. One concept that has been on the ballot a couple of times, and failed to pass, is a revision to provide for an elected Attorney General. Most Alaskans, particularly Democrats, have opposed this measure. Given the transparent abuse of power by the current AG in the demonstrably corrupt Palin administration, it might just pass if proposed once again.

She probably rose up with the slant she has within her environment, but she is the perfect example of a person that the right wing wants to plant everywhere. They are not just looking at the WH and control of Congress or the Supreme ourt and District courts, they also want them imbedded everywhere in the PTA, civic local, county, state positions. They HAVE BEEN GROOMING this type of person for decades. Very smart strategy for their purposes, not ours. (ex: Pat Robertsons law school went directly to the Justice Dept - in exchange for the Robertson's allottment of votes that he garners for the RW, plus little old ladies and gents calling in to the WJ spewing lies and hate - young ones also, of course).
