2 voters sue Ohio elections chief; Claiming Voter Suppression of Rep's.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Two voters are asking the Ohio Supreme Court to overturn a decision by the state’s top elections official rejecting their absentee ballot applications.

The plaintiffs from Cincinnati failed to check a box on applications mailed by the John McCain campaign that indicate they are qualified voters. Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner has said that county boards of elections should not accept the thousands of applications because of the oversight.

Republicans accused Brunner of using her power to suppress Republican votes. They said the voters’ names, identifications and addresses were enough to show they could vote.

Brunner said last week that voters who didn’t check the box could print out a form online and mail it in.

4. I don't understand this, really.

If someone goes through all the trouble of filling out an absentee ballot, why not just check to see if they are registered if the box isn't checked off? It's easy! As much as I'd like to see 'pubs get a taste of their own medicine, it is not right when ANYONE is disenfranchised. This is a lot like throwing out votes in Florida because of hanging chads. Sorry. I'd love to say 'fuck 'em', too (and I do every chance I get), but not over this.
