fundamentals implies a performance measure.

Foundation implies in place structural objects.

Much different implications in the word choice.

But even foundation is not enough. It's not JUST innovative or hard working employees, for capitalism to work you need CAPITAL, management, and labor. IF any of those are missing (and I would submit that two of the three are missing right now), then the fundamentals or foundation is "bad".

And, of course, I would add that another foundation that is missing is a well regulated environment (to prevent cheating and ensure the good of all capitalists, including the workers and investors).

Anyone with a basic understanding of economics (macro) would understand this.

John McCain is the first person to ever describe the foundations of our economy as "the people". And I can't imagine anyone (other than Hannity) would buy into that explanation. Note to please reconsider usage of word "verbiage" as it could be construed by base as elitist, were either of you to suddenly become African American. Saw the native dress Palin was in at grocery store recently, and with those sort of exotic roots (not hair dye) she could be considered...well, uppity. So stick to agreed upon words only: country first, mission, god, terrarists, war on american way of life, newclear, life, and conservative.
