Damn I'm happy today!
I just registered a few more voters this morning, I'm getting ready to go door-to-door in my neighborhood, I'm going with a group tonight, I'm going to make phone calls in between and this evening, the polls are looking better, I've been praying like there's no tomorrow, Indiana is closer than people think (45-43) and I'm working as hard as I can, I'm getting good feedback in my samples from canvassing, and I just gave $50 to help in Florida and the battleground states! DESPITE WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS!

I had the vision when I saw Barack in 2004 in his keynote address and I'm NOT letting it go. I also had visions for Biden as something higher than just Senator. I've been watching him for a long time--didn't always agree but I like his style and feel he's a good man.

Even if Indiana doesn't win, we will definitely give McCain and the Republican party a run for their money this time!!! I am so glad the Obama campaign is in my territory!

1. Which version on firearms? The one he campaigned in DC on or the one after he got the nomination?
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 12:26 PM by MookieWilson
He supports background checks, how radical!!!

He even uses the NRA's "let's enforce the gun laws we already have" line.

Tell that to the kids getting shot in DC.

4. He says what's good in rural America may not be what's good in large cities.
He said he would take that into consideration. The people around here vote on that issue alone! I am pro 2nd amendment even though I've never touched a gun.

5. I believe in the right to own rifles, not handguns.
Obama DID a complete 180 on the DC gun ban between February and July. It hurts.

3. Keep up the awesome, awesome work! If we win Indiana, we win!
Obama doesn't have to win it, but it's one of the states that will definitely put him over the top if he does.

Whatever happens in November, you're doing great work. Thanks for inspiring me today.

6. Indiana is THE untold story of this campaign

Bush won Indiana by 20 points and McCain is down to a 2 point lead.

The guys on the ground in Indiana have moved the state 18 points - more than any other state.

This is a great story and you guys are doing a great great job.

If all of the states moved just half of what Indiana did this will be a 40 state win.

You guys are fantastic.

9. What happened here in the primary, despite Evan Bayh's arm-twisting is a story itself!
Mark my words, if Indiana goes Blue, this will be a landslide election.

11. Oh, thank you grantcart! But I hope we keep under the radar so we don't get bonked--
the Dems around here get intimidated pretty easily but things are changing...

My college-age daughter just brought me ANOTHER registration of her boyfriend's! He will be voting Obama and for the first time, too!

So I just turned in 4 more! Two more on the way. One by one. Drip, drip.

8. Thanks Indiana Dem, you rock! I'm in Plainfield, & 3 people on my street just put up Obama signs!
All older couples, 60+ white folks! I was walking my daughter on our usual route today, and boom! 3 new signs. I started to cry...

10. OMG! YOU have made me tear up!
Isn't plainfield pretty red red and sort of old KKK area? OR am I mistaken?

I'm getting the same experiences here. We put up signs starting this Saturday (by law). I just registered a lady born in 1938 who is voting for the first time since voting for Kennedy!!!! That's how long it's beenj for her!! She was so happy I came to register her.

12. re: Plainfield, verrrrry Red. votes 89% R, even against Bayh. It takes my breath away.
things are changing here, but it has a long way to go. There is not one AA in my neighborhood of about 200 homes. Just older, very conservative, white people. I am so shocked right now at all of the Obama signs around Plainfield. There's less in Avon and Brownsburg, but I am seeing dozens of signs here! (I posted a thread about it the other day, but unless you live here you don't understand how truly amazing it is.) Even our old movie theater had a sign up on Main St. "Barack Obama will be our next President!" until they sold it.

13. Me too. I hang out in a litle restaurant near my house.
For the past year I've thought the place was overrun with republicans. Last night, I found out that one the main regulars is an Obama supporter! He and I were yelling at the tv's when that phony-as Palin was on. I was great!
