The media is making me SICK!!!!!
Wow. Totally unbelievable!!!

The media's daily meme is that both campaigns have gone negative.

Excuse me...but McCain has been attacking Obama non-stop since the Paris
Hilton ad! It's been continual attacks.

Now, the Republican talking head is saying, "Enough is enough! Stop the
negative ads!"

Obama has just started fighting back and defending himself. What the hell!

The media played these supposed negative ads, and they equated McCain's "Obama
wants kindergartners to learn about sex" with Obama's ad about McCain not
being able to use a computer.

I'm so outraged and astounded right now!!

The MSM is helping McCain further his meme. How in the world can they do this?

So, McCain gets to benefit from smearing and lying about Obama for weeks--with higher
poll numbers, and when Obama steps his toe in the water and defends himself, suddenly,
we need to stop all of the horrible, awful, unAmerican attack ads?????

We all know, damn well--that McCain will stop--for a few days--and then start up again.

We can't let up! No matter how the media plays it.

I am so sickened!!!!!! I wish I had a stash of valium, because I'd be downing a few right now.

1. Yep...and people are stupid enough to swallow that whole
My massage therapist said exactly that this past weekend (e.g. "I hate negative ads and they're both doing it now")

4. Yeah, but look at all of the people...
...who have gone over to McCain--as a result of those negative ads.

They've practically emasculated Obama.

That's why you've got to hit back, and hit hard--in less than 24 hours.

By the time you get your shit together, the damage has been done and the Republicans
start preaching, "Ok, let's just all be adults and stop the nonsense. We'll stop
if you will. Won't you be a decent person and do what's best for America?"

Fuck the Republicans!! I gotta hand it to them, they're playing it well, but we
need to move forward with those negative ads and slice them up--like they did to us.

Obama has the right to defend himself and to reveal the truth about McCain.

Screw the media!!

6. When are democrats going to STOP...
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 09:09 AM by RichGirl
...apologizing and defending themselves. The republicans have always been negative. Has it hurt them...NO. They are considered geniuses. Yet when we go the slightest bit negative, they are the first to point the finger...and we fall for it.
THEY have made the world "liberal" a dirty word to the point that our people have to deny it while the republicans can proudly call themselves "conservative". Now that we have some tough ads out, they want us to defend, apologize and feel oh so bad.

If they want to fight dirty, and they do...we need to let them know that we are not afraid to get down in the dirt with them.

Please stop letting them define us and dictate how we should feel.

On Bill Maher Friday, both he and Begala claimed that when they sent their checks to the Obama campaign, they made a notation in the memo portion "this is for dirty campaigning." Let's please stop being wusses!

If the right says enough is enough...that is the time to hit the excelerator, not the brakes!

no truth or lies, just he said - he said : each opinion holding the same weight.

3. All DUers need to change the Meme to the McCain/Palin like machine
do it at the water cooler, the online blog replies, letters to the editor, reponses on the MSM websites, online message boards any where and every where the word can get out. We need to make THAT the story. If we put in the effort the media will have no choice but to follow.

7. That is the key...
The Obama campaign must press forward and defend themselves and fight
back against McCain.

He can't allow the media to silence him.

What makes me sick is that the media is perpetuating McCain's meme--that both
sides have gone negative and how tired America is of it.

Obama has just started defending himself, after the Republicans beat the shit
out of him for the past few weeks. This has been going on since the Paris
Hilton ad, for God's sake!!!

mccan's voting record is the evidence

9. I stopped watching right after Palin was selected.
It's bad for my blood pressure & my general outlook. I'm sick of being in a pissy mood all the time & it's not like I'm better informed watching this shit. I've finally just come to accept the fact that between election fraud & the right wing media, we start every election in a giant hole. All I can do is work locally to get the word out. I honestly think people respond more to a personal interaction with someone in their community than some asshole on CNN.

Turn your TV off for a few hours - you'll feel better!

Republicans fault both campaigns for negative ads

By HOPE YEN, Associated Press Writer Mon Sep 15, 1:03 AM ET

WASHINGTON - Leading Republicans on Sunday faulted both presidential campaigns for the increasingly negative tone of their advertising, suggesting the bitter attacks undermine John McCain and Barack Obama's credibility with voters and could backfire.

"Both campaigns are making a mistake, and that is they are taking whatever their attacks are and going one step too far," said former White House political adviser Karl Rove. "They don't need to attack each other in this way."

"There ought to be an adult who says, 'Do we really need to go that far in this ad? Don't we make our point and won't we get broader acceptance and deny the opposition an opportunity to attack us if we don't include that one little last tweak in the ad?'"

In the last week, the McCain campaign has put out an Internet ad accusing Obama of calling Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin a pig when he used the phrase putting "lipstick on a pig" to criticize the GOP ticket as trying to make a bad situation look better. McCain supporters said Obama was slyly alluding to Palin's description of herself as a pit bull in lipstick, but there was nothing in his remarks to support the claim.

17. Ya got that right!
BUT...

Obama himself doesn't need to do this to keep with his IMAGE and all...

Let EVERYONE ELSE - from the outside groups, to us and the family pet - go absolutely bonkers ballistic NEGATIVE and HARD on these cretins...and do it ALL THE TIME!

and they all can begin by STOPPING this crap about "mcInsane is an "honerable" man, but..." or "he's a "nice guy" and all, but..."
