purple heart bandaids are un-American
That's the language to use.

It's un-American to mock the service of those who were wounded so that Americans might live in liberty.

Un-American.

Un-American.

Un-American.

Does George W. Bush support this mockery? Does he?

3. Those damn things will go beyond the RNC - they are UN-AMERICAN!!!
Am convinced that we will be seeing those damn band-aids long after the RNC is over.

So, yes, pound it out -- they are un-American.

I said un-American.

4. No it's not. Questioning our Commander In Chief
during war time is un American. Making fun of wounded combat soldiers is only good fun.

5. What and who will they mock tomorrow? The KIA?
Maybe they can all wear little flag-draped coffins on their heads and point and laugh at them.

Or maybe they can get their laughs by tellings jokes about Max Cleland, the triple amputee.

Perhaps they will award Rush Limbaugh a Purple Heart for his butt cyst.

I guess they could just stick to making fun of minorities, poor people, people who lose their jobs to outsourcings, welfare mothers, and AIDS victims.

7. But THEY support our troops!??????????
Georgie does drug rehab in Alabama, Kerry volunteers for Vietnam gets wounded not once, not twice but three times.

And the repukes, even such wonderments as Bob Dole, cannot see the dishonor they bring on their own service and "republican" values by demeaning the contributions of veterans.

I have to say, It is the best of times (if you are a capitalized investment class type), it is the worst of times (if you are a globalization loser in the working class).

Bring on Robspierre...America is setting itself up for low velocity-high shear cervical dislocations.

Who is going to be Napoleon? And who will be the Scarlet Pimpernel?

9. those band aids aid and abet the enemy - they demoralize our troops
everywhere in the world.

What connection does Blackwell, the band aid bandit, have to pro-Taliban, pro-Osama, pro-insurgency groups?

What company produced those band-aids?

I think we should blitz various band aid companies (3M, Band Aid and whomever else) and raise hell - even if we don't know if they're involved. Just raising a huge noise might have an effect - a massive ripple.

14. Of course, but the message is that the Purple Heart is a joke
That is what the Republicans are saying. Cleland lost limbs and they mocked him.

Its not just a dig at Kerry. It is complete disrespect for military. Sure, the Rethuglicans wave flags and shout angry rhetoric that they call patriotism, but in reality these assholes are just pathetic cowards who don't give a shit about the military or, more importantly, our troops.

15. Senator Kerry and every other veteran
This isn't just an attack on John Kerry. This is an insult to every single veteran who has sacrificed for our country. These people think the suffering of our veterans is a joke. They are unamerican.

16. Sorry...
...I am a vet, and I didn't take it that way. I saw it as a dig at Kerry and the SBVs claim that he had self inflicted wounds, and the claims that Senator Kerry didn't even need a band-aid for his injuries.

If anyone went after my fellow vets, no matter what party affiliation, you can bet i would be all over them...la

one purple heart without insulting them all ! You know Purple hearts are not passed out like candy ! What about Cleland? Did he deserve what he got..Sorry..can't agree with this. Hell is paved with good intentions and in this case for their party.
Welcome Home !

23. I am a vet also
And this, on top of Dole crap last weekend, are about to send me over the edge.

At the Edwards speech yesterday in NC I sat next to a Marine who just recently got back from Iraq. He missed seeing his son's first steps but he was luckier than 11 other guys in his company. They didn't make it back. Men and women are putting their lives on the line for our country and it's the punchline of a GOP joke?

This shit is as funny as a burning orphanage.

How many decorations have you received for "Internet Forum Dueling"? I'm sure it's a dangerous pastime.

24. Thats not allowed here.
I am not a freeper, and calling people freepers is specifically prohibited.

I probably mistakenly assumed mopaul made up that purple heart photoshop yesterday, because I saw it first on a post from two days ago.

Thinking that he actually made it up yesterday, I thought it odd, that he might have inadvertently started the meme that the republicans stole, but as I said, thats probably wrong.

In any event, you don't have to be a freeper to be amused by the high moral dudgeon expressed over the republican use of the purple band aid image, while the same people think its just peachy that mopaul uses the same image.

I am not criticizing mopaul, just suggesting that the outrage over the republicans is a bit over the top.

started using the purple heart cartoon today.

where is McCain and Cheney on this? This can't be blamed on any group but the RNC. It happened on the floor of their freakin' convention so there will be nobody to hide behind. Come on brave leader, what say ye?
