3. I don't think the GOP would do it
since it would be certain death at the polls. I'd like to know what the protocol is in a case like that. It's never happened that I know of.

5. that word was another DU'er's inspiration, but I love it--have been using caribou barbie until today

7. Depends upon timing
IF before about OCtober 1st, the RNC could still put up a different candidate. After OCtober 1 its too late and McCain would remain on the ballot. If McCain won, even though he was dead, his electors wold go for Palin.
