Here is another BULLSHIT talking point from the GOP operatives
I heard a CATO institute guy ( "yeah' we all know how non partisan they really are) on NPR and I heard Sean Hannity using the same facetious argument .. and I guess it is concerted effort to blunt the Democratic Edge on the Economy.

It follows this pattern. They will compare economic metrics (Growth rate, unemployment, inflation) to the "AVERAGE OF THE PAST 30 OR 40 YEARS" and claim that it is better now than it has ever been. This is serious misleading. The averages are skewed by the top earners ( Who are doing very well under the Bush Administration) and the Median is much more reliable metric. What they also fail to tell you is that the average growth rate under Democratic Administrations is significantly higher than under the Republican Administrations. There is higher social mobility under Democrats. The Clinton Administration lifted millions out of poverty - BUSH is driving people into poverty ... These assholes are lying their asses off.

By making a questionable comparison - they are trying to convince the ordinary guy that he is better off than he has ever been .. What a Joke ... These guys need to dumped into the bottom of the Atlantic

2. Everything is coming up roses according to Hannity
Things are so good while banks collapse and Fannie/Freddie get bailed out. Hannity and whatever other talking heads are so transparent to the facts on the ground (even McCan't has been saying these are difficult times) that it's hard to believe they would in their minds compromise themselves and their reputation, would there be any to begin with.

The arrogance is astounding.

3. I hope they continue to spew this crap. The people know and feel the reality of this economy.
They sound like fools and that is a good thing for us...
