This was said today on her return to Alaska. It was some bullshit about American jobs, freedom & prosperity. Nevermind that it's all lies.

1. I've heard people on our side say the amount of oil in Alaska is negligible. nt

4. More than negligible, far less than significant, is a universe away from "independence"

13. Yes, you are correct
Recent estimates conclude that the oil reserves in ANWR add up to about 20 Billion barrels.
The oil reserves in Iraq have recently been estimated at 350 Billion barrels.

All this talk about drilling to make the price go down is a LIE when the price of oil is determined by OPEC.

If the US ramps up drilling and production OPEC will CUT production to keep the price high and deplete the American Reserves.

2. Well, she DOES know more about energy than anybody else in America...
Funny, though...didn't she sign legislation giving those pipeline jobs to a CANADIAN company??

3. If she feels it is all for America, Palin should be willing to forgo oil payments...
to Alaskan citizens for the security of not just the lower 48, but The United States of America. She'll never do it. That oil is going on the open world market and her and her oil handlers know it.

8. No, she's a foreign policy expert because Alaska's next to Russia.
...so you KNOW she's negotiating border disputes with Putin on a daily basis...

7. At what costs to animal and plant life, at what cost to the Inuits,
at what cost to the environment in general. Oh I almost forgot, man didn't fuck up the Earth...it just did that on it's own.

11. There is no such thing as energy independence
It doesn't matter who tells it to you, or what energy they're selling you.

so maybe she's just counting on enough oil to get us through to the rapture.:eyes:

15. And, considering the Earth is only 6,000 years old, new oil will be created soon.
If it only takes a few thousand years to completely restore our supply of fossil fuels, we're not doing too bad...

16. If that's the case why build any pipeline. If that's the case she should march...
her state troopers cross the ice bridge; she could lead the charge like Sarah of Arc, then down into Moscow and punch Putin in the nose. Get this 'end time thing' into high gear. I detest phony baloney dominionsists...they're such a waste of time & space. Ever notice how such people mostly seem to be suffering the effects of cabin fever from their living in isolated locales where they don't have to explain themselves on a routine basis.

17. U.S. has 3% of known reserves and uses 25% of global output.
Oil consumption would have to drop by over 85% for U.S. production to fulfill U.S. needs. Of course, not all potential output is in Alaska. The Republicans reject conservation, and minimize investments in alternative energy, so they would never get us to energy independence. Obama's plan will get us much closer.
