5. Worst I've seen, too.
And I didn't even watch the whole thing. The exploitation of 9/11, practically standing on the graves of thousands to promote their political party, was absolutely over the top.

This has got to stop. Attacking veterans while claiming to support the troops, acting like 9/11 was some sort of accomplishment and as if all victims and all heroes that day were Republicans, acting like the war in Iraq is a glorious humanitarian mission... Horrible. This has got to stop. I've never seen politics this ugly.

14. And they worry about how the protestors will be perceived...
The double standard in our country is so unbelievable. All the Republicans have done is bash Kerry and *we're* the negative ones. I'm a registered Independent but more and more every day I realize I could never ever vote for a Republican, I don't care how much to the center they are. Anybody who would align themselves with this party is insane.

18. Notice the strength of the wording here:
Kerry won three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and a bronze star for his service in the Vietnam War. A group calling itself Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has been attacking Kerry as a liar through campaign ads and media interviews, but Kerry's wartime experiences have been backed by crewmates and official records.

It's game over for the Swift Hoaxers. I wonder what kind of impact their dishonesty will have on the rest of the negative campaigning Bush does.

throw that schmuck out of the convention and should watch the interviews and throw out everyone that was wearing one or should demand that they all turn them in to be destroyed.

Edited on Mon Aug-30-04 11:45 PM by Bleachers7
He was nice, but partisan. He was caught off guard. I didn't realize how late it was. He said that he paid $50 for about 300 bandages. He did it on his own and will stop. He also said that people were tortured because of Kerry. I said that lives were saved because of him and he said it was a difference of opinion.

38. I'm sorry, but Kerry should have MADE the Smearboats a disgrace
Kerry let the smearboats slide, and now they've damaged him.

He should have right up front said "These accounts you are hearing are contradicted by the official records, and are the work of radicals opposed to any democratic candidate. I will not have my record of service slandered by these people in service to someone who used his family connections to avoid serving."

And Kerry doesn't need to do anything more to prive the Swift Boaters are liars - that has been proven in abundance.

The problem isn't proving it. It's not a legal problem - it's a polirical one.

46. He did NOT say "Every veteran who ever served in Vietnam is a
war criminal."

I assume you know what Tiger Force was, what My Lai was, what free-fire zones were. You can't claim these things didn't happen.

The issue for VVAW was never about pointing fingers at the veterans. Why don't you understand that? The issue was about holding the leadership accountable and ending the war. There was no reason for anybody to sign an affadavit, because nobody was going after the soldiers and there was no reason for THEM to be scapegoated. Do you not understand that?

All of Kerry's pertinent records are released. Where are the Bush boy's? He can't even show he fulfilled minimum requirements.

41. What National Guard "service?"
McAuliffe continued: "It is inexcusable to mock service and sacrifice."

And you think that applies to the Bushboy? What sacrifice? What service? When did he ever risk his life in combat? When was he ever injured or even in danger of being injured overseas?

It's nothing short of despicable to claim to "support the troops" and then attack a decorated veteran, malign the credibility of the US Navy, and minimize the medals of all veterans as if they can be easily gained by making up stories.

Disgusting.

56. Bush is a survivor of numerous forays onto foreign soil
How many times did Bush's elite Special Forces unit invade the hostile terrain of Ciudad de Juarez?

Between the cheap tequila, the "special discount" beer, the mile-long lines of unknown white powder, and the donkey shows, Bush risked his life on HUNDREDS of occasions!

Bush still breaks into a cold sweat when he hears a Latino say "hey gringo, do you want a good time?"

Compare that to a measly 120 days of guys just shooting at Kerry, firing mortars at Kerry, trying to sink Kerry's boat with B-40 rockets...that's just pussy stuff. Naah, Bush is the real war hero here.

I wonder how many times Bush caught the kind of "cold" that requires three million units of procaine penicillin G injected intramuscularly into the buttocks to cure? See, officers are gentlemen and never catch the clap. They always catch colds.

42. GW Bush mocked the National Guard by abandoning it.
The notion that revealing that DimSon didn't show up for duty for 193 days while he did (court-ordered?) community service at Project PULL in Houston and then bailed out and had his trail covered up by Poppy's cronies is not demeaning the National Guard! The AWOL Fuck-Face did all the dishonoring by his coke-headed little self!

The rock-hard, utter stupidity of some people!! (Sheesh!)

You didn't like it. I didn't like it. That's what makes it even more special for the republicans. and those badaides are going to spring up all over this country just like Clinton's words "It's the Economy, Stupid". Wouldn't it be nice if we had people thinking that fast on their feet??? It's a fight for the little bit of headline news across the nation and the republicans are stealing the show with bandaides and swiftboats. It's now in Kerry's hands---none of us can bring home the bacon for him.
